This tournament is for everyone who is interested in Adjacent Attacks (http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=51364). If you have never heard of the Adjacent Attacks proposed gameplay - it is very simple: Newly conquered countries cannot attack (including tapping/slimming a territory) for the duration of the turn they are conquered on. This means no kill-runs, but a lot of strategy about what your best moves should be and planning for the future. Resetting neutral territories (missile launch in Arms Race!, Parade Deck in The Citadel, etc) are exempt from this rule, they can be attacked out of when captured. Since this is not yet coded into the website, this is an HONOR-BASED RULE and means that you should pay attention to your moves carefully to not break the rules.

This tournament will run for the duration of 2010, with new game(s) being created every Monday before noon CST. This is a ladder-style tournament, so you only need to join as many games as you wish, and both premium and freemium players are welcome! I plan on starting the first batch of games on Monday, January 4th, 2010, and hopefully will have a game slot for everyone signed up for the first week. I will request tournament privileges once I have 16 entrants, but games will not start until January 4th.

Penalties and score changes/resets:

Third Crusade Game 6218863, Etropal 0 points, all other players 5 points (major mistakes by Etropal)
Arms Race! Game 6307622: -1 point to n00blet for breaking the AA rule
Siege! Game 6343085: -1 point to danalan for breaking the AA rule
WWII Ardennes Game 6385499: -1 point to danalan, badpat for breaking the AA rule
San Francisco Game 6433788: -2 points to acores2005 for breaking the AA rule, +2 points to denominator for being eliminated by the attack
New World Game 6487981: -1 point to General Flashman for breaking the AA rule, -1 point to denominator for his sitter breaking the AA rule

I am most definitely in.

Since my typical map doesn't play so well for AA, let's go with WWII Ardennes, No Spoils, Adjacent.

I assume it's all automatic deployments?

What happens with games that last a lot of turns? For example, look at this

Game 5586762

What about setting a turn limit and/or a domination victory condition?

For example, if a game reaches turn 50, domination victory condition gets enabled. From that moment, it won't be needed to conquer 100% of the territories. It will be enough to conquer 66% of territories.

Great idea, I impose this on all of my tournaments.

But a few ideas:

Sometimes, I have used or played in tournaments where the time limit means you "Go to BOB" and use the relative strength indicator. Only works for sunny though.

Or, I have played in tournaments where after a certain number of rounds the game just ends, no points for anyone.

How does the strength indicator even work? I've never trusted it...
