- Hm, I like the textures you are using. They are rather simple, but add a little character to each of the areas. Noord still needs a little touch of something, as does Belgisch, and West. But you are going in the right direction there. You might even want to consider doing something with the non-gameboard area, if you use textures everywhere else.
- The water for the map looks like a picture of real water...is it? It sort of looks out of place, maps tone down some of the 'ripples' in the water, and it will look a little better.
- There are a few things you will have to clean up. Some of the country divison lines look sligtly pixely. Try softening some of those 'square' edges...like those near Liege and Namur, among oter places.
- Also, it looks like your army shadows a too small to hold the army coordinates.
- Are each of the 'crests/coat of arms' needed? They seem like they are crowding this map, and I think it would benefit from seeing them gone.
- I'm also not a big fan of your current bridge image, look into some other possibilities.
- And what about shhortening some more of the extra long names? O. Vlaanderen, W. Vlaanderen, N. Holland, Z. Holland. What can you go regarding Greiwmaacher, Vlaamse Ardennen and Belgisch Limburg? If possible, maybe shorten those names down.
- While doing a quick scan, it looks like the north of the map can be pretty strong. If you take Noord and Oost, you've got some prime bonus...and if you manage to grab West along with those, you can limit your lovely borders down to 3 borders...for a bonus of 10! Yowza! I assume that area might be hotly contested during gameplay, but take a closer look at that area.

Yeah, you got a point. Schengen is a small town, but most of the people know or hear about the Schengen Agreement:socralynnek wrote:The region Greeiwemacher could also be called Remich. It's shorter and it's the Kanton south of Grevenmacher.
Or Schengen (small but known cuase of a famous meeting of some prime ministers)

The 1985 Schengen Agreement is an agreement among European states which allows for common policy on the temporary entry of persons (including the Schengen visa) and the harmonisation of external border controls.
A total of 28 countries – including all European Union states except the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom, but including non-EU members Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland – have signed the agreement and 15 have implemented it so far. Border posts and checks have been removed between Schengen countries and a common 'Schengen visa' allows tourist or visitor access to the area.

And of course I will use the suggestions of Andy. The suggestions are a benefit of the playability and visuality.

UPDATE 08
Below the latest development of the map BeNeLux.
UPDATE 08
Larger map :
(600x456)

(Click to reduce to mapsize 500x380)
Some suggestions that were mentioned:
- Shorter names of the countries.
- New graphics such as textures, bridges and water.
- Remove of the coats of arms.
(Then Zuid-Nederland gets 4 bonus armies and Vlaanderen 5 bonus armies).
So let us know what U think about the map BeNeLux so far.

Must I put an attack route from De Peel to De Kempen for the playability?AndyDufresne wrote:While doing a quick scan, it looks like the north of the map can be pretty strong. Re: UPDATE 08
You SHOULDNT put that route... but even without it, Vlaanderen bonus could be 5.MarVal wrote:Must I put an attack route from De Peel to De Kempen for the playability? [/b]

About Zuid Nederland texture, its good, but could be a bit softer.

Because Andy wrote that I must changes some suggestions of him (in an earlier Topic) to benefit the playability and gameplay on the map BeNeLux.Anarchist wrote:1 love the map, i would play it
Dont get rid of the coat of arms! adjust maybe but dont get rid alltogether
Keep the names as accurate as possible9dont shorten them to cease complaints
Textures wouldnt hurt-but its not needed
Why isnt this Map available yet?
I'm still working on it.

Ana, As much as everyone would love to have the long accurate names, it isn't feasible. If they are too long, they effect the layout of the buttons. Shorter names are definitely the route to go.

mysty: think it's still under construction, although it would be nice to play benelux tournament on this map
have been looking at the progress of this map since a while now, can't wait to try it out. i'm not playing this game long enough to drop comments that make a lot of sense concerning playability etc., but i agree with the one who stated that 3 border countries could offer 10 bonus (when holding North/east/west nederland) is something to look at.
keep up the good job!

My suggestion is to make another attack route from Limburg to Belgisch Limburg. So there will be 4 routes to attack cq defend (the Netherlands contra Belgium/Luxembourgh).caspertk wrote:... but i agree with the one who stated that 3 border countries could offer 10 bonus (when holding North/east/west nederland) is something to look at.
Is that oké?

Happysadfun you are disgusting, the kind of talk you used to know that you don't like mrs Clinton does not fit on this forum.
It does me remind on the manners of some of the moslim-terrorist your nation is fighting against.
Bad bad bad.
I send a message to CC about your words and hope that they block you from this forum.
Shame on you
