Tourney Rules
Eligibility: Premium players only
Style: Multi-player games with some 1 vs. 1
Maps: We’ll use a mix of 18 maps (see below) with settings of escalating, chained, foggy.
This tournament will mimic a PGA Tour event with each map representing one hole. Each round is made up of 18 holes with four rounds (72 holes) comprising the entire tournament.
I plan to send out maps six at a time (thus the premium requirement), with a fresh batch going out every 2 weeks or so. I’m expecting this tourney will last about 6 months.
The Course:
Par 3s — 2 to 3 player games
Par 4s — 4 to 5 player games
Par 5s — 6 to 8 player games
* Players will be randomly assigned throughout, giving a mix of fresh opponents on each hole.
Scoring:
• Basically, win a map to score a birdie or be the first eliminated and suffer a double bogey. Finish somewhere in the middle and you’ll end up with a par or bogey. (see table for exact breakdown)
• I’ll also be tracking eliminations throughout the tournament. Drop a stroke for every 10 knock-outs you are able to tally.
Cut Line:
The cut line will go into effect after the first two rounds of play.
The top 60 players (plus ties) will advance to finish out the tournament. (this # is based on getting a full 96-player turnout and is subject to change). The cut line will be announcement once sign-ups are finalized.
Disqualification:
You will be disqualified and dropped from the tournament for…
• Being eliminated on 2 separate holes for missing too many turns.
• Poor sportsmanship, continue missed turns, etc. could also result in DQ at the organizer’s discretion.
Champion:
After a full four rounds of play, the player with the low score will win. In the case of a tie, those involved will return to the course for a sudden death playoff (format to be determined based on # of players in the playoff).
