We're looking into solar power to supply an air conditioning unit. We'll need it due to increased temperatures caused by climate change.

If the use of oil continues to increase and destroy the ozone layer, we won't be around for 400 years.

CO2 does not destroy the ozone layer; that was done by CFCs and that issue was regulated and dealt with by the Montreal Protocols.

AI Summary:
Montreal Protocol

Focuses on phasing out substances that deplete the ozone layer, such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).

It has been largely successful and is legally binding, leading to significant reductions in ozone-depleting substances

Not debate necessarily, just correct where necessary.

He’s not capable of understanding most conflicting points, and those he does understand he just dismisses out-of-hand.

I made my correction. CO2 does not impact the ozone layer, at least not to the extent that CFCs do. :D

The best HOPE and possible reality for Clean Energy is nuclear Fusion.

Agreed, my mistake.
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) traps heat in Earth's atmosphere by absorbing infrared radiation radiating from the surface. It acts like an insulating blanket, re-radiating heat in all directions—including back to Earth. Human activities, such as burning fossil fuels, have amplified this natural process, significantly driving up global temperatures.
We think that's what happened to Venus (the CO₂, not the burning of fossils fuels necessarily).

We're still some way from nuclear fusion. I'd prefer a matter/anti-matter reaction with dilithium crystals, but we're probably even further away from that.
There was one interesting thing that I saw - dropping water through small holes that created static electricity. I don't know if it's scalable or sustainable yet.

I am not aware of any significant efforts in anything Apatheist is referencing, other than nuclear fusion.

There are several efforts in the US to develop this fusion technology, one of which is based in Massachusetts and associated with MIT.

https://cfs.energy/

Here are some excerpts from Scientific American:
Could fusion energy soon join the U.S. power grid?

The fusion energy start-up Commonwealth Fusion Systems aims to bring its first power plant online by the early 2030s, but daunting technical hurdles remain (...)

Commonwealth has demonstrated some success

(...)
“By becoming the first fusion energy developer to enter a major grid operator’s interconnection queue, we’re demonstrating that when you’re serious about building a power plant in the early 2030s, you act now,” he [Commonwealth co-founder and CEO Bob Mumgaard] said. “This is execution.”

Commonwealth’s application will likely take years to be approved;

I am not holding my breath on this effort.

This isn't the best article, but it gives you an idea on the water/static thing:

As I mentioned, scalability is an issue, but it may help in areas that don't have huge rivers.

Just found this one too:
