Okay, so after looking this over and reviewing the supersize application, I do hereby stamp this!
Small nitpick - on Cairo & Luxor, the leftmost red stripe seems to be a bit too much to the left, considering the intervals within the others...
Also, I think you could do some kind of dark glow around the land, about 4-8 pixels wide, and blurred... to define the land/sea transition a bit more, you know?
"Independent" is misspelled in the legend.
Guinea Bissau may need a little line from the name to the territory; the relationship wasn't immediately clear.
The mini-map should show Egypt with stripes.

Hm, maybe something like a very light blue, like #dfeafb: ██████████████████
On another topic, I think the word "of" should be moved out of the cartouche containing the word "AFRICA" and placed just below the word "Colonization". It will provide a nice symmetry with the word "The", and "AFRICA" would look better by itself, I think. The cartouche could also be stretched/squashed to match the size of the word "AFRICA" more closely.
