I think that you should maybe tone the effect in the number shadow down a bit. It makes the numbers a bit harder to see. If you could provide a few more samples, that would be great. I don't mean a lot of work though, just fade it a bit.

I think the reduced glow helps. I agree with hecter though, something needs to be done with those army shadows.

I also think the reduced glow helps with the clutter. Looks much better.

Ehm, I object to Samus's point about people leaving the guy with Mind. The map is set up in such a way that you really can't just leave mind alone if you plan to stop someone else from picking up a thought, or if you're trying to break their thought. So giving Mind a negative 1 may make things a bit more of a race for a thought than necessary, but giving it a bonus is definitely too much, since controlling it gives a huge tactical advantage.

And just because I really liked the idea... is there any hope of getting the negative enemy bonus back? It was such a good idea...

I know you've already changed the skull so that it's not smiling but now it looks like is got a broken jaw, or has had a stroke or something.

I know you can do better than that WM!!

This might be a bad idea, but I was wondering, what if...

We made Mind -1, but then made Reason +1 and made it so that it is a one way attack route from Mind to Reason.

Ya, it's the black streak near his jaw I think. Just take that out and the skull should be fine.

Yeah, if we're debating death . . . the smiling skull was better.

Widowmakers, I know nobody else cares, but can you please switch love and empathy? Having empathy and passion next to each other feels wrong . . . no one is passionately empathic.

I sort of like it where Mind alone is -1, but if you hold Mind and Reason there's no bonus, positive or negative. But you do need to specify that you have to hold Mind and Reason both for Reason to be worth +1, or you'll get a lot of people dropping stacks of men on Reason and letting Mind go - and it will go, it's too significant tactically not to do so.

visualy the map is really beautiful, but i'm not convinced on the gameplay. i get the feeling it will be similar to chinese checkers. i have'n played that one either but i have a certain drawback when it comes to simetrical maps. :?

I think the actual map itself is looking pretty complete. My only real concern left now is that yellow numbers in Wealth are a bit hard on the eye. A darker shade of yellow would work and probably suit the rest of the colours better. It kind of sticks out a bit at the moment.

I'm still not sure the Allied bonus system is worded clearly enough. I realise it's a hard part to get right, but I think it's a pretty important part of the map.

I'm with some of the others and prefer the old skull. Perhaps some more outline/glow on the names wouldn't hurt either. The shape of Widowmakers makes it harder to read. I'm not sure those outside the foundry would be able to understand what it's supposed to say.

I'm with DiM on this one. I like the visuals, but I doubt I'll play this one. I might give it one go just so I can say I played it, but the gameplay does not interest me at all. I really hope we can see a typical geographical map from you next time Widow.

the biggest problem on chinese checkers is the size and the loads of useless countries in the centre. its just way to big... i like smallies (played world 2.0 once and never want to do it again) 42 is playable i dont think it will be a very silent map for there are common countries...

btw i'm in love with the looking of it :) make sure this one is playable in the very soon future :) looking forward to play......

first thought "windowmakers" was a painting under the word Coleman ;)

regarding WM's signature. i may be tired but it seems the lasr 2 letters R and S form an M :?

One minor thing to consider, I could see a fair number of newbies confused when trying to distinguish the difference between the 'Impassable Arms/Hands' and the country division lines (though I understand that once you see the layout, most get the idea). Perhaps a slight alteration in color so they can clearly be seperated.

I like that idea actually, -1 for Mind without Reason, no penalty if you hold both. That way many players who want to control who has continents using the center will probably try to take two countries to do it.

I still don't really like negative bonuses that much though. I'd hate to start with mind because nobody is going to want it right away. I think I agree with the people that don't want any bonus effects on the center at all, but I don't want to argue with lots of people over it.

I don't think anyone else cares but since we need to make sure the XML is correct I don't think changing this is a big deal.

I was going to adjust this earlier. It slipped through. Tomorrow with the rest of the updates.

I still don't know how to make it better. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I will replace the old skull. By names you mean Coleman and WidowMakers right. Because I just reduced the glow on all of the territory names because everyone told me to. Plus the name WidowMakers is my signature. You can't read everyones signature. It is what I am putting on all my maps. If you see KOTM and 8 Thoughts you will know the same person did them.

I am going to keep the map as-is for right now until we have this settled here. The map update will have the same ZERO bonus for Mind or reason.

You are in luck. I have a geographical map about 70% done. I may post it tomorrow depending on what happens. Stay tuned.

That is the way it worked out. You try and make a W turn into an R and an S upside down. It is unique and I am sticking with it. Plus for those of you who don't know why WidowMakers is designed like this, rotate it 180 degrees and see for yourself.

This is what I will do for tomorrow:
1) Move love and empathy
2) replace old skull
3) Tone down yellow territories
4) Increase glow around Coleman and WidowMakers sig text
5) Post new geographical map for Keyogi
6) Repost everything again for your viewing/critiquing enjoyment

I'll go ahead and get the xml changed for it, and I'll work on centering in a very old fashioned boring way that will probably take me about 8 or 9 hours but should leave nothing off center.

If you want to comment on the current centering and extremely visible mistakes (especially in the small version) go for it, would save me time.

Seeing as andy recommended changing the look of the 'Impassable Arms/Hands' I'd like to recommend giving them a metallic (Like dark chrome or maybe titanium) or perhaps an obsidian look. Maybe post a few samples.
