Losing armies to doubles partner

Post by salr15 »

Concise description:
It doesn't make sense losing armies to your doubles partner. In a real battle the ally would give his territory to his/her partner. For example, in a recent game I had 10 armies in a territory and planned with my partner to take his 1 in another territory so that I could get the bonus. I lost 5 armies trying to take his 1. He should be able to just give me that territory. Completely changed our strategy because I didn't have enough to guard the land and we lost our bonus.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
Doubles is a partners game and if your partner agrees to give you a territory, then you shouldn't lose armies taking it. I would suggest any territory that has 1 army, the partner should be able to take it without losing any armies. I say 1 because this would eliminate any abuse where a disgruntled player decides to wipe out his partner. Or maybe have a button that allows the partner to confirm and forfeit territory...something in those lines. This would make it easier to strategize in a doubles game.

Whoever holds the majority of the territories would collect the bonus, if it is equal, the bonus would be split.

Ok, so how would you split the Queensland bonus on the Australia map: 8 territories, +5 bonus?

if its equal then maybe for arguement sake just let which ever person joined the game 1st that has the most armies on that territory to control it

and i think if this happened it should be a selection to wheter you or your team has to hold a bonus

I know a suggestion like this would never happen (since there is sooo many others that would be way easier to do and never will get done) but....a team should be 1, and any bonus is for the team, therefore all team mates are the same color and is awarded the bonus, and the next person who is playing can distribute the bonus accordingly.

Well there's your problem right there... Team rules isn't really for teams, alliances would be a more fitting word IMO.

Bonuses for Teams wouldn't work.

Drops in Quads would be completely unsurmountable - team that plays first would win - everytime.
