You may need to change your continents...

Anything that was written <component> is now <territory>

Note you can also use <continent> in your components if your logic needs it!!

Ok, I will need a little help from the experts on game play and bonus areas. Can anyone help in this area?

I would like to resolve it as soon as possible.

Thank you!

i sat down and started writing down how many territories in each bonus region, and discovered that there is one more region than I thought there was - as a sadly color blind player I can't tell east texas, central texas, and the gulf apart. Until it's clear I cant help you much on the bonuses. And I wish I could tell you what to do to fix it, but as my eyes are challenged in this area I can only tell you works and doesn't work when i see it. :(

Overall, however, the bonuses look too high to me, especially when you consider that each and every region also has a +1 territory inside it. In addition, every region is going to be a bitch to hold. For example, west: 4 terits, 4 borders; South: 5 terits, 4 borders; panhandle 8 terits, 5 bonuses.

And is it me, or does it look like the Mexican cannons and the indian territories might detract, rather than contribute, to the play of the map?

Good Question! Lets set a poll for this.

Does anyone else agree on this point?

Without Canons and tee-pees and with bonues reduced for each territory.

Ok, what colors best work for you? I will change it and make a map just for you to see or I can name them for you.

Sorry I did not make my play of the game clear. Only the Hill Country has the +1 in it. All other symbols you have to collect all pieces to get the points. If you notice on the map it explains it below the symbols. Note on the Bonus Points I can take them down if that's what is needed to make good game play.

Huh, was that a change? I guess I overlooked that completely. Usually maps simply say "Hold All XX: +2." And it's a bit confusing because the Star is +1 alone, but the others are combined. Let's see if somebody can't come up with something better than "When is it All Collected" which could also be misread to mean you have to collect them all, together.

If you wanted to put a twist on it you could make it like cards in flat rate games:
Hold star: +1
Hold three cattle: +2
Gold three wheels: +2
Hold one of each: +3.

By the way, your first post doesn't mention if there are any starting neutrals... since Austin is an automatic +1, you may not want anybody staring there.

Colors: the trouble with colorblindness is that I can't just tell you what colors will work, because it's a matter of subtlety of shades. Usually Yellow and Green look very distinct to me, for example, but if that green is light or on the yellow side of the spectrum they can run together. At first I thought it might be as easy as just swapping two of the colors for each other, but that doesn't solve the problem of the colors in the legend being hard to distinguish.

One way around the problem would be to put a darker inner glow around each region. The darker colors are often easier to distinguish, and it makes it obvious which are the region borders vs. the territory border within the regions. I see that you already have a glow inside of each territory, however, so you may not want to go this route, so maybe some other way of making it clear which are region borders could be found.

Ultimately, however, many of us are used to relying on BoB to tell things apart, so do what you can.

I know graphics isn't my area of expertise, but have you considered making the texas flag look a bit tattered and battle-worn? Might go nicely with the battle them and better flow with the pastels of the map.

I think the bonus for the Panhandle is way too high. You only have to hold for chokepoints, and if you expand to the next territory, only three. It should be five at most, but probably only 4.

We can do that. We might also look in to the other symbols as well. What do you think or does it matter?
