I'm playing games with people (escalating cards)

And heres an example:

blue takes over Africa and defends the three conecting territories with 4 on each.

green takes over europe but is spread out / weakly defended.

gets round to blues go, and he reinforces africa and attacks somewhere else and allows europe to remain intact.

this is happening in loads of games im playing.... Its bad stratagy, and suicide in the long run....... WHY IS IT NO ONE IS BUSTING UP OTHER PEOPLES CONTINENTS WHEN YOU HAVE AN OPPERTUNITY? - attack is the best form of defence

I dont know about that particular game but there are times when it makes good sence to go defensive and let sombody hold their country while you protect yours. What could be happening is that it would be best for YOU if blue spent the armies to break up Europe, but not necessarily for him.

If your already fighting a battle on one front, it's not always best to try to piss everyone off....

on an escalating game it does not mater about land but men where placed =-= people holding contininients are lulled into a false since of security i've seen yu pedrp rip a cont. right out from under me np matter how good a defense when you pedro has the right cards lol

In an escalating game, its all about when you use your cards, and how well your defense is when the higher cards start getting placed, ie 15 +

Only continent that matters in escalating is Australia, and maaaaaaybe S. America, and I've taken to avoiding even them unless the initial placement gives it to me. The only reason they matter is that people might leave you for last, and give you a chance if their cards run out.

Some fool goes for Europe, or - god bless 'em - North America, no offense'll save 'em. I've seen someone win an escalator after taking N. America maybe one time. Europe, never that I can recall. Africa... Man, I dunno. Maybe one time, and he wasn't really holding it, just using it to pump up a massive chunk on N. Africa. Now, who was that? Dysmal, maybe... I had to put the effort in to taking him out from behind just so he wouldn't get so scary.

Can't go wrong with Irkutsk and Southern Europe. The two best countries on the map.
