This tournament is about teams playing teams like a competition or a league. The participating teams play the other teams once. For the first tournament we had 10 teams, I would like to aim for a few more teams this time. Teams score points with every game won, the team with the most points beat the other team. The team with the most wins over other teams will be the champion. In case of a tie, the team with the most total points scored win. We will play a round every two weeks.
Defending Champions: Team "Generation One", now called Team "The Killer Bs"
To get an idea of how it all works, please have a look at the thread of the first (completed) tournament.
Each round consists of 4 singles games (1v1), 3 doubles games, 2 triples games and 1 quad game. For every match won the team gets points. All games are one single game, i.e., best of one.
All games will be sequential, chained forts. Other settings will vary.
The points will be rewarded as follows, with a total of 21 points per round:
1.- The teams consist of a minimum of 4, and a maximum of 6 players. All players need to be officers at sign up (i.e. have a score of at least 1600 points = rank of Lieutenant) and premium members. If a team cannot sign up at least 2 officers for any round, that team will not be allowed to play that round. We urge you to sign up with 6 players, because this league may take a while to complete and we all know ranks can go up and down easily. You also have the option to add or replace players during the tournament (see point 3.-).
2.- To sign up as a team, you need to provide me with a team name, team Captain and the other team members. Please include the current score (or rank) of all the team members.
3.- The Captain needs to advise me of any changes in the team, you cannot let a player sign up for games if he or she is not registered with your team.
*Added explanation: I will accept the occasional player who played in the first tournament if they have a score under 1600. They will need to be a Sergeant 1st Class minimum though (i.e. minimum 1400 points). The team they sign up with will have to have at least 4 players whom are officers. Players with a score under 1600 cannot play in round 1. I reserve the right to deny players with a score under 1600 entry in this tournament, using my own judgment.
The maps will vary throughout the competition. I will let the team Captains know what maps and settings we will be playing before every round, so that they can assign their players. The maps for all rounds will also be published in the third post of this thread.
The rosters show which players are is assigned to the different games. For examples please check the thread of the first tournament: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=92&t=75528. Keep in mind that 1 player cannot play more than 1 singles game, 2 doubles games, 2 triples games and the quad game. I will show the rosters for each round in the third post of this thread.
1.- Before every round, the team Captain will be asked to decide which players will play which games. You can use 4, 5 or 6 players. The same player cannot play more than 1 singles match, 2 doubles matches, 2 triples matches and the quad match. The teams for the two triples matches cannot be the same, there has to be at least one different player in the two games.
2.- When assigning players the team Captains send me a pm as shown in this example:
(S = singles, D = doubles, T = triples, Q = quad)
S1: PlayerA (obviously I need the players’ names) S2: PlayerB S3: PlayerC S4: PlayerD D1: PlayerA/PlayerB D2: Player C/Player D D3: PlayerA/PlayerB T1: PlayerA/PlayerB/PlayerC T2: PlayerA/PlayerB/PlayerD Q: PlayerA/PlayerB/PlayerC/PlayerD
Do not post the assignments in this forum, because then your opponent can chose whom will play whom!
1.- Once the games for a round are made I send a pm with the game numbers and password(s). If a game is not filled within 48 hours by one of the teams, the game will be cancelled and it will count as a lost game.
2.- As soon as a game is won, the winner(s) should post the result immediately in this forum. It is going to be hard for me to keep on top of all the games, so please help me out and let me know the results!
Added explanation and rule: Every game needs to be joined by the player(s) assigned to the game by the Team Captain. If a game is mistakenly joined by another player, please let me know and I will decide to allow it or make a new game. If a player is replaced by the Team Captain without letting me know, and joins a game, that game will be forfeited and the win and the points go to the opponent(s). The same will apply if a player who is added to a team without my knowledge and permission, and joins a game.
The team Captains have the following responsibilities: 1.- Sign up your team with a team name and the players and, of course, name the Captain. 2.- Make sure your team members are all officers at the time of signing up. 3.- Make sure you have enough officers on your team to be able to keep participating. 4.- Register any team changes with the organizers. 5.- Assign players for the games before every round. 6.- Ensure that your team members sign up within the time limit and with the correct team mate(s). 7.- Ensure that the organizer is notified of the results of the games a.s.a.p. 8.- In general ensure that there will be as little delay as possible during this tournament.
1.- I reserve the right to deny entry or disqualify any team that does not comply with the rules stated. 2.- I will ask the team Captain to replace players who demonstrates unsportsmanlike conduct. 3.- I will disqualify a team that repeatedly delays the continuation of the tournament. 4.- I deserve the right to take whatever other measure(s) necessary to ensure that the tournament will be played in a fair, fun and timely manner. 5.- Please let me know if you have any question or suggestions to make this tournament a success.

TLO 2009 II – Most Valuable Player (MVP) - Contest Achievement Medal for the winner!
The Most Valuable Player of this tournament is: Chariot of Fire Congratulations!
Anybody can nominate a player, however, there are a few rules. The nominated player must have:
1.- Been a member of the same team for the whole tournament
2.- Participated in every single round of this tournament (i.e. must have played at least 1 game per round)
3.- Followed the tournament rules and Conquer Club rules and/or guidelines for the duration of this tournament
You can nominate a player by sending me a pm or by posting in this thread. If you nominate a player, please tel me why. There can be many reasons for nominating a player, such as:
- Playing and winning many games for the team - Displaying leadership and keeping the team involved - Communicating with team mates and other players in a respectful manner - Displaying exceptional sportsmanship - Anything that contributed in a positive manner to the team or the tournament - Running the tournament in an exceptional manner
From all the nominees I will make a selection and you will all be able to vote for a player. The player with the most votes will be declared the Most Valuable Player of this TLO 2009 II tournament.
I received nominations for 8 players. Of those, 2 of the players did not participate in every round of the tournament. I was also 1 of the nominated players, and although I am flattered, I will not put myself up for the vote. That leaves the following 5 players (in no particular order):
- dtellis ---- (Generation One III) - Pedronicus ---- (Hot TOFU with Pedro Sauce) - Shatners Bassoon ---- (Hot TOFU with Pedro Sauce) - vintender ---- (A Fistful of Sixes) - Chariot of Fire ---- (Hot TOFU with Pedro Sauce)
I was given the following reasons for the nominations(some are slightly condensed):
dtellis:
"He is the player who always agrees to take the "crappy" maps (those who others don't like), he is a very strong player who always suggests plans and strategies in games and I think he should have quite high winning percentage. He is a perfect person to have in a team." ----
Pedronicus:
"Because of his outstanding record, of course." ----
Shatners Bassoon:
"For his leadership abilities." ----
vintender:
"I would like to nominate our Team Captain for MVP. By week 4 we had amassed a woeful record of 1-3. vintender noticed team playing styles were not compatible with some of the players and recruited and replaced 4 of the 6 players. Since week 4 our team has a record of 9-3 and have accumulated as of week 15 the 4th highest point total. Not to bad considering where we were in week 4. So there you have it: vintender was definitely our MVP and should be considered one of the tournament." ----
Chariot of Fire:
"Because he is awesome. He played most of the hard games, took leadership in the turning games. Also, he peeked in all of the other's team games and gave advices when it was not foggy. He covered all our misses and made a great job keeping this together. I don't know any other player that devotes himself more to the CC and his mates than him."
"A leader amongst leaders, a player with no equal in my long cc experience."
"He has been an exceptional leader in team games, several of which were likely won solely due to his judgment. His high win % is obviously a great factor as his communication and encouragement in EVERY TLO game I've been in with him. Many other players know him and there is a great deal of mutual respect. I could go on but I think he is the hands down winner of this award."
"He is the quintessential leader and brings the best out of everyone that plays with him. I can go into more detail if you like, but I am sure you are already aware of how great a teammate and player he is."
---- *Sky Force The Elite: changed their name to "A Fistful of Sixes" - Round 10 ---- *thedicearf*cked.com: changed their name to "Hot TOFU with Pedro Sauce"
1.- Hot TOFU with Pedro Sauce 2.- Outlaws and Highwaymen 3.- Nemesis 4.- UnMilkable!! 5.- The Killer Bs 6.- A Fistful of Sixes 7.- Hard Half Dozen 8.- Team Sweden 9.- The Magnificent Six 10.- The Brethren of the Fat Mermaid 11.- Imperial Dragoons 12.- Rangers of the North 13.- The Stragglers 14.- Generation One III 15.- Legion of the Damned 16.- The Last Warriors 17.- Generation One II 18.- Eternal Empire

I'm quite sure that Generation One III will be back in hope to do better than last time So can you save me a spot and I'll let know who other members are (and maybe a captain's change). Edit. Oh crap, I've lost my rank But I'll get it back for sure (just missing 1 point) so perhaps you can half-save me a spot?
"Thou shalt accept thy dice rolls as the will of the Gods" (Church of Gaming) "amazzony is a beast" (Woodruff)
I will not sign in by rank but hope I will get it soon. I will sign in a Team Sweden if it is Ok. Players comes later. And do I have to be an officer if I have all others in my team that are?

You'll need at least 4 other officers, see (new) explanation on page 1.
