I was actually thinking the same thing last week. I'm surprised no one mentioned it until now. It was a very important day in the World's history.Pedronicus wrote:June 6thSpecifics:

Then maybe someone should have suggested it several weeks BEFORE the holiday. The St. Patrick's day map was planned for a couple months.slowreactor wrote:They did this for St. Patrick's day but not for D-Day?
THAT IS A CRIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I lived in Germany for six years, and we traveled extensively while we were there. We very much made every attempt to speak the native language of whichever country we were in at the time (in public anyway).a.sub wrote:when did u speak dutch woody?karelpietertje wrote:Woodruff wrote:Well...it's not as bad as Dutch anyway. <grin>a.sub wrote:i spoke it for a whilekarelpietertje wrote: very important indeed!

I was a combination computer programmer and Unix system administrator for the Air Force for 23 years. I retired in July of 2007 to become a schoolteacher (one low-paying job to another).a.sub wrote:you served? i had no ideaWoodruff wrote:Best military assignment of my life, yes.a.sub wrote:im eternally jealous

A teacher can absolutely make a tremendous difference in how much the students' enjoy a given subject. Unfortunately, teachers tend to forget this the longer they're around (in my view).a.sub wrote:i think teachers should have better pay system
the shit teachers (of which i have had, sadly, many) should get even less pay, and my good teachers deserve more
i can personally say that over the course of a yeah i went from loving a subject to wishing its death and vice versa
honestly there are times i cant blame themWoodruff wrote:A teacher can absolutely make a tremendous difference in how much the students' enjoy a given subject.
