I'd like to suggest "mirror maps". What do I mean by that? Well when you start a game you'd have the option that the start positions are reversed. eg in a two player game each person would start one of the games as red with reds starting position. I think this would best be done for tournaments. In a two player game it is easy for one player to have a much better drop. Of course you would still have the luck of the dice so it is unlikely that the games would follow the same course.
