- show: Tournament description
- This tournament is about teams playing teams like a competition or a league. The idea was to start with 8 teams (we now have 10 teams) and each team play the other teams once. Teams score points with every game won, the team with the most points beat the other team. The team with the most wins over other teams will be the champion. In case of a tie, the team with the most total points scored win. The plan is to play a round every two weeks.
- show: GAMES and POINTS
- Each round consists of 4 singles games (1v1), 4 doubles games and 1 quad game (see roster below). For every match won the team gets points. All games are one single game with one exception: If the quad game is the deciding game (i.e., the combined score of the singles and doubles games is 6-6 or 7-5), it will be the best of 3 games. This will also be the case if both teams have 8 points after playing all the games. The team that wins 2 out of 3 quad games will win that round, but the points will remain the same. (Edited for clarification, Jan. 30)
All games will be sequential, chained forts. Other settings will vary.
The points will be rewarded as follows, with a total of 16 points per round:
Singles matches: 1 point
Doubles matches: 2 points
Quad matches: 4 points
- show: TEAMS and PLAYERS
- 1.- The teams consist of a minimum of 4, and a maximum of 6 players. All players need to be officers at sign up (i.e. have a score of at least 1600 points = rank of Lieutenant) and premium members. If a team cannot sign up at least 2 officers for any round, that team will not be allowed to play that round! We urge you to sign up with 6 players, because this league may take a while to complete and we all know ranks can go up and down easily. You also have the option to add or replace players during the tournament (see point 3.-).
2.- To sign up as a team, you need to provide me with a team name, team Captain and the other team members. Please include the current score (or rank) of all the team members.
3.- The Captain needs to advise me of any changes in the team, you cannot let a player sign up for games if he or she is not registered with your team.
4.- Before every round, the team Captain will be asked to decide which players will play the various games. The same player cannot play more than 1 singles match, 2 doubles matches and the quad match (see also roster below).
- show: MAPS
- The maps will vary throughout the competition. I will let the team Captains know what maps and settings we will be playing before every round, so that they can assign their players (see 3rd post).
- show: ROSTER
- The roster below is the standard way of assigning the players to the games. With 6 players you can obviously replace any of the players with players E and/or F. Keep in mind that 1 player cannot play more than 1 singles game, 2 doubles games and the quad game. We will show the rosters for each round in the third post of this thread.
- show: ASSIGNING PLAYERS
- When assigning players the team Captains send me a pm as shown here:
S1 (singles game 1): Player A (obviously I need the players’ names)
S2: Player B
S3: Player C
S4: Player D
D1 (doubles game 1): Players A & B
D2: Players C & D
D3: Players A & B
D4: Players C & D
Q (quad game): Players A, B, C & D
Do not post the assignments in this forum, because then your opponent can chose whom will play whom!
- show: SIGNING UP FOR GAMES and RESULTS
- 1.- Once the games for a round are made we send a pm to the first team with the game numbers and password(s). That team has 48 hours to join the games. After that we send the games to the second team, which has another 48 hours to sign up for the games. If a game is not filled within 48 hours by one of the teams, the game will be cancelled and it will count as a lost game.
2.- As soon as a game is won, the winner(s) should post the result immediately in this forum. It is going to be very hard for us to keep on top of all the games, so please let us know the results!
- show: TEAM CAPTAIN AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The team Captains have the following responsibilities:
1.- Sign up your team with a team name and the players and, of course, name the Captain.
2.- Make sure your team members are all officers at the time of signing up.
3.- Make sure you have enough officers on your team to be able to keep participating.
4.- Register any team changes with the organizers.
5.- Assign players for the games before every round.
6.- Ensure that your team members sign up within the time limit and with the correct team mate(s).
7.- Ensure that the organizers are notified of the results of the games a.s.a.p.
8.- In general ensure that there will be as little delay as possible during this tournament.
- show: NOTES
- 1.- We reserve the right to deny entry or disqualify any team that does not comply with the rules stated.
2.- We will ask the team Captain to replace players who demonstrates unsportsmanlike conduct.
3.- We will disqualify a team that repeatedly delays the continuation of the tournament.
4.- We deserve the right to take whatever other measure(s) necessary to ensure that the tournament will be played in a fair, fun and timely manner.
5.- Please let me know if you have any question or suggestions to make this tournament a success.
