Do you think that you should be able to have more than one target in an assassin game?

New Game Type. Multiple Targets

Post by theconquerer1995 »

Concise description:
  • I think that there should be a game similar to assassin, but you could have more than one target.
Specifics:
  • This would only work for games with four of more people. Otherwise it would be the same as an assassin or standard game
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Proven formula: New Stuff = More Experience = More fun or just flat out New stuff = More fun

This has been suggested before, and I believe it was shown to be logically impossible to do properly.

How would it work would you have to eliminate both targets?

Also I've thought of a chain system that could work.

1 -> 2 and 3
2 -> 3 and 1
3 -> 1 and 2

4Player

1 -> 2 and 3
2 -> 3 and 4
3 -> 4 and 1
4 -> 1 and 2

etc.

Can you expand that out to 5 or 6 players please. I believe that's where the problems start to arise.

Yes, the problem was that if two people are eliminated and they are not both one person's target, then the next person eliminated could cause two people to win. Also, what if the first person eliminated has as his/her targets the second and third players to be eliminated (6 players or more), do they win?

Ok so taking these situations:
max is gr8 wrote:Also I've thought of a chain system that could work.

1 -> 2 and 3
2 -> 3 and 1
3 -> 1 and 2

4Player

1 -> 2 and 3

3 -> 4 and 1
4 -> 1 and 2

etc.
If in a 3 player game, one person were eliminated, both of the others would win. In a four player game, if player 1 were eliminated both 3 and 4 would win.

the person who kills one of their targets first will win even though somebody shares his target the person to eliminate their target wins.
this can work for odd games too just not 3 because all you have to do is eliminate somebody and you win.

Eah, maybe it's a stupid idea, but what about a terminator/assasin combo.

If you kill one of your targets, you win instantly.
If somebody else kills your target, you don't win, iff all your targets are killed your screwed and you can only win by eliminating everybody else.

like this:

1 -> 2 and 3
2 -> 3 and 4
3 -> 4 and 1
4 -> 1 and 2

Player one has to kill 2 and 3, If player one kills 2, he wins. If he kills 3 he wins.
But if player 3 kills 2, and player 4 kills 3, than player one has no targets anymore. Well, tough luck for player 1.
In this game it is wise to protect your targets from others, and kill others that are not your target if an other gets to close to them.

What d'ya think ?

This works easily. Imagine there are 5 people
Person A has targets Person D and Person C
Person B has targets D and E
Person c has targets A and E
Person D has targets A and B
Person E has targets B and C

This could be called star.

I think the problem lies when:

E kills C, D kills A, then they both have B as their victory condition. (Just one example, it could work in multiple ways)

If said player B is eliminated, do they both win?

If you are talking about the original suggestion, then yes, this situation breaks the game. I do think that wakka's suggestion (three posts above) would work well, although it seems slightly confusing at first. It would involve a lot of blocking and would seem like a cross between assassin and standard escalating. Given this situation initially:
Person A has targets D and C
Person B has targets D and E
Person C has targets A and E
Person D has targets A and B
Person E has targets B and C
If I am player A and player B is getting very weak, I know that two other people could end the game by eliminating B, but if I eliminate him/her, the game continues and gets harder for others to win. Continuing, if A eliminates B and then E eliminates A, then D no longer has any targets. The only way D can win is by eliminating both of the other players. Either of C and E can win by eliminating the other. The suggestion is very eloquent and does not seem to have any flaws on the surface. (Maybe a new thread should be created.)
