Concise description:

• Have some kind of a notice that tells you when there is new game chat in your game

Specifics:

• there could be a number of how many new game chats there are in a game. it could look like the thing that you have for new PMs - Inbox (2) or new Wall messages .

This will improve the following aspects of the site:

• people will see that there is new chat and hopefully it will encourage members to socialize more in games

I agree, if you are planning on saying something, you would probably look anyways, and I doubt the notice will help if you are not planning to say anything in the first place.

Although, it would be nice if the chat was organized the other way, meaning the most recent messages are on top. Since people can usually see the top few lines without scrolling down, they should notice something new more often this way, plus if you are trying to tell someone to not attack you, more chance they will notice it if it is right below the button to attack than if they have to scroll through 200 lines of game chat. Might make a new suggestion with that, unless you want to steal the idea.

also look at the sectionthat says that it will help players interract more and socialize- ive been through 8 players games and noone says anything- it was really boring

I meant the one about reordering chat from top to bottom. I will go start a thread about this now. Although that suggestion does everything you are trying to do. People will see the new posts since they fit on the screen, except this way it requires less scrolling and less code to make it happen. Nevermind, I will go start a new tread.

---or just replace the position of game log and game chat. log is important to all of us, but i personally use it only @ the start of turn (unless its foggy and terminator of course lol) while i use the chatter box all the time, more or less---
or you can add an option to control panel, giving each user a possibility to decide the position of each box for himself, as someone might insist to have game log above the chat...

I like it. If red and blue make an alliance and I don't look at the chat, by the time I realize somethings up, they've been working together for a turn or two and broken all my bonuses, leaving me helpless. If I know it's coming, I can at least prepare.

sounds good. thx for making a new thread neon peon. i also like the idea of placing the game chat in a different spot, where you might be able to see the entire thing.
Neon Peon, i know where you are going about seeing the first few lines of chat, but remember that some computers have different default screen sizes and that may make it difficult for players who have bigger screen sizes
