This tournament consists of 3 parts that are going to be played not at the same time due to the huge amount of players/athletes that even 1 part needs. I’ve taken all the sports that are used in Beijing and put them into 3 categories: Citius(part 1), Altius(part 2) and Fortius (part 3). First part is 1v1 games, 2nd part team games and third part will be multiplayer (3-8 player) games. This tournament's point is not to follow Olympics exactly nor make a copy of those games but to try to do something huge in the spirit of Olympics.
Olympics: Fortius Part 3 *Number of Athletes: 371*
Sign up period: September 16, 2008 – October 23, 2008 First games are made: October 24, 2008
***EVERYBODY WITH 2 OPEN SLOTS IS WELCOME***
It's time for the last part of the series of tournaments dedicated to Summer Olympics. I might of left a wrong impression that it's only for Beijing Olympics, it was just taken as example. It's for all Summer Olympics ever made and that will be made in the future. As mentioned above, third part concentrates on multiplayer games. I've narrowed it down a bit and not all types will be used so we'll be having 3-, 4-, 6-, 7- and 8-player games. I've changed the format a bit and lost wildcard games in this part. Read below about settings, events and signing up.
Settings
Depend on event (read more about events below)
Game type: 3, 4, 6, 7 & 8 player Sequential Maps: Greater China Spoils: No Spoils, Flat Rate & Escalating Reinforcements: Adjacent, Chained, Unlimited Fog: Sunny (No FoW)
To win, you must reach final (i.e second) round and win it.
How to get there? Win your event!
How to win event? Depends on the event.
Every event has a qualifying system and in the end, only 1 person from each event will get to final round. There are 4 different types of events. 3-player games, 4-player games, 6-player games and 8-player games
3-player games (3 events): You will play 6 games within your group. Player with highest score will advance to 2nd Round of Event where all group winners will replay the 1st Round of Event and the winner of that group wins the event and reaches semifinals.
4-player games (4 events): You will play 4 games within your group. Player with highest score will advance to 2nd Round of Event where all group winners will replay the 1st Round of Event the winner of that group wins the event and reaches semifinals.
6-player games (6 events): You will play 6 games within your group. Player with highest score will advance to 2nd Round of Event where all group winners will replay the 1st Round of Event and the winner of that group wins the event and reaches semifinals.
8-player games (1 event): You will play 8 games within your group. Player with highest score will advance to 2nd Round of Event where all group winners will replay the 1st Round of Event and the winner of that group wins the event and reaches semifinals.
After qualifying round we have 14 players left for the semifinals round. These players will randomly put into 2 groups of 7 where they will play 7 games and from both groups, 3 highest score players will reach to the finals where they will play once more 6 6-player games and decide the winner of the tournament.
Scoreboards are graphically in next posts.
I've decided that I need to set a round limit to keep things under control. If game goes over 66 rounds then it will not count in the overall standings. It will not be remade nor replayed, it just won't count (exceptions will be allowed!)
I don't know how I missed it in the beginning but tiebreakers will be solver like this. If there's a tie then first place points will be checked and who has the most wins, advances. If that doesn't work then for each situation I will find the best solution (some extra games will be played in that case).
Spoils: Escalating Reinforcements: Adjacent Players per game: 6 Groups: 6
Weightlifting - FULL
Spoils: Escalating Reinforcements: Unlimited Players per game: 8 Groups: 8
