a few strategy simple strategy questions (new to this site):
1. if a person takes an entire area (you have no troops in it whatsoever), but it is a fog of war game and you do not know how well they defend it. should you try to take that area away from them or get a section of the map all for yourself? (or something else, if neither is a smart choice in your opinion)
2. I go first in a prison riot, two player, fog of war game. should I...
A. deploy 3 men on every cell where I have one guy and they have the other?
B. deploy all in one area and try to secure it as a "base"?
C. deploy outside of the prison (assuming I have several men there already) eliminate the opponents men there, and then go for the warden bonus sometime within the next few turns?
D. try to get as many gang leaders as I can logically keep for several rounds?
E. do something else?
thanks for your help in advance.

Re: Two simple questions
1. Depends on teh situation - if it's a multiplayer game with multiple people - army preservation is always key. Only break the person if you have to - or if opportunity shows itself. Hard to gauge, it'll show itself in time if you keep playing.
2. I haven't played the map =/.

2: Do B, C, and D, as long as your "base" is a free-for-all area, either general population or the yard (or the mini-yard). Don't waste armies fighting the guards. Don't deploy 3 in a cell you split. If you really need to (to defend a boss or new fish), you're better off deploying 2, because that way you will always have at least as many as they do (even if you lose).DFK6498 wrote:a few strategy simple strategy questions (new to this site):

1: Depends if it's two player or not, and what the bonus is.
Re: Two simple questions
1. It depends on the bonuses..
If he has 10 defending something like Australia, then no. But if it was 10 defending something like NA, consider it.. (mostly yes).
2. dunno havent played it yet

If some cook played their first ten games on a map like Waterloo against someone who plays it many times, then will win none, or one/two most. If a cook comes and plays classics against a person who has played it mostly, he will win a lot more than that from sheer luck.
I say cook, although I am aware there are many who know how to play, you can replace that with sergeant if you wish as well, or any other rank. I would lose my first few games on Waterloo if I played them against It.pie, but then so would anyone even if they have played that map. Back on topic...
Don't give people advice not to play maps. If a person asks about a map, it is for a reason, and probably means they would like to improve on it rather than start playing it. Just because you can't pick up a new map quickly, does not mean that others do not have that capability.
