How to make a URL link appear as just one word

Post by Pedronicus »

Instead of seeing: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4515 - you see this: 4515

This is how you do it....

After you URL the link, you have at the front and at the rear of the code line.
On the first you delete the ']' and replace it with ... n front of so it looks like; ...aloadofPCjargon]
between the] you insert the word / words you want to see so it looks like; ...aloadofPCjargon]4515

It takes a lot of mucking around to understand how to do it, but once the penny drops - it's very easy.

If you click the quote button by pedro's post above, you can see for yourself. This works for most other 'tricks' too.

an easier way ... at least for me ...

click URL link

type whatever text you want to be clickable, e.g. Game 12345

click URL link again

within the first tag, i.e. the first , add an equals sign and then paste the copied link, like so:

Game 12345

just make sure there are no spaces. this way you don't have to worry about closing tags and all that jazz...
