"Chat" in Speed Game Waiting Area

I see that Callout chat is used all the time for RT games from non-prem. Would it be neat to have a chat room inside of Join a game/speed games? You could heckle people into your games or ask if people would join a ????????? game? Just an idea, not too worried about the response. I just hang out in join speed games sometimes and see who's there and if I might jump in. Thought it would be cool to chat, I would probabally get roped into freestyle games though. he he.

I don't know if thats such a bad idea. I don't think it will be very popular, one chat is prob enough for most, but I kind of like this idea. It would be a great way to organize speed games and know whos in your game instead of being surprised.

Yeah, that would be great... I don't bother using live chat since it always take ages for me to join it. Even the old gabbly would be sufficient in the speed games area.

I think if I did that I would get, "I don't have prem.", "I can only play RT cause I am not prem." etc. Do you organize speed games in live chat? There is a chat box on every game going in this site, every speed game refreshes automatically every 10 seconds, so could it be possible to put a chat box in the speed game joining area and have a auto refresh? Way cool. like cream cheese on toast man, cream cheese on toast

I agree I often get people in callouts complaining to me because I made a speed game. It gets very annoying and I've pretty much stopped using it.

This could combine with the pre-game chat idea http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... =4&t=47727 and have the "pre game chat" displayed next to the game in the "join a speed game" area... It would require very little extra code I would think, because the chat would simply be the game log chat that is going on with the people in that game... You couldn't add to the chat until you joined the game, but you could certainly see the convo's of whoever is in a game, and people in games could hurl out abuse and challenges to people waiting and watching... Maybe also a "who's watching this page" for the join a speed game page... Also this will be quicker than live chat or gabby or anything crap extra that has to load, it's just log-reporting... and we know we LOVE log feeds!

I don't even think it would have to be as complicated a 'pre-game chat' logged and everything. I think it would just have to be simular to the Live Chat now or the old gabbly where its just embedded in the bottem or top. Plus this way you can organize games instead of only chatting in pre-starting ones.

YES, I can picture it now. herndawg looking in to see who is joining speed games and then all of a sudden, "hey hern, watcha sittin there watching for, join this doodle, or are you scared?" Man I would not get away with not joining anymore, this may spell for some long nights

I would enjoy entering a game before it started. Even for regular games it would be fun.

True, very true, live chat callouts is not used for speed game organization. The speed game waiting area is, but by silently watching and waiting. The vast majority will not be in the callout chat.
