Feedback is a joke
I left someone a negative saying they "missed multiple turns during a crucial point in the game" which was completely 100% true. Apparently, this guys complained about it and I get a message saying the feedback was removed becasue it was "trivial and not accurate".
Are you freaking kidding me? How is one player out of three remaining missing multiple turns "trivial"? Cause if that is trivial I would like to see what is "important". Christ, I have gotten negative feedback for telling someone they made a stupid move but something that actually effects the outcome is trivial? Gimme a break. Why not just get rid of the feedback section all together?

It isn't that I am upset for it being removed, I am upset for the complete and utter lack of logic under which it was removed. I mean saying that one of three players missing multiple turns is "trivial" is just about as dumb as it gets.poo-maker wrote:There are alot of people who share your thoughts on the feedback system- I am one of them. I wouldn't let it bother you that much, as noone really gives a damn about their opponents feedback as long as they haven't got a ridiculous ratio of positives to negatives.
Wouldn't the purpose of feedback be to warn people if the person they are about to play with is habitually misses turns?

Re: Feedback is a joke
The definition of occasional as stated by wicked is three. I got into an argument with her in another thread about this. If a player misses three turns in a four round game your feedback won't hold up. On the other hand if a player misses four turns in a one hundred round game, according to the declared standards, the feedback will stand...sideoutshu wrote:I left someone a negative saying they "missed multiple turns during a crucial point in the game" which was completely 100% true. wow... if that is indeed true, it makes no sense. none... wow... thanks for that info.-0GabonX wrote:The definition of occasional as stated by wicked is three. p.s.-what? you got in an argument with wicked? i don't believe that for one instant!

So there is a definitive rule, the fact it makes absoloutely no sense whatsoever is of little or no consequence. Lucky for us wicked always keeps to a this single standardised process, never deviating from a set position, never ever showing double standards, that way we all know where we are....don't we?GabonX wrote:The definition of occasional as stated by wicked is three. I got the most positive feedbacks on this site by far and I got to agree with you. I think the system is not used and monitered properly. I played almost 8,000 games and left almost no feedback but when I do, there is always some kind of catch 22 phrase on why the feedback is not factual. Your documentation can be filled with 100% accurate facts and its still not acceptable. I dont know if Lack has SOP's that are used for deleting feedback or if the mods use their best judgement, but I dont think it is being done properly. Now I do send in alot of e-tickets to have feedback removed, but every case it is because the player complained about a non speed game not being played real time. So I do think they should be deleted, but to delete a feedback only on the fact that because a player is not eliminated in a game yet that makes the feedback not factual is rediculous. What am I to do? What until the player is eliminated and than leave the feedback? If so, than why do I have the availability to leave the feedback when im eliminated and the game is still not over? Than the other player beats me to the punch and I cant leave one or its revenge feedback. Too many loopholes in this system.

The double standards on this site have really reduced my enjoyment of it. The feedback system is just one example of what can happen when mods let their biases get in the way of fair moderating. I have gotten feedback for bad strategy when they don't even point out what my strategy was, yet had my feedback lefts deleted when they said basically the same thing. I have even been kept on a feedback ban for asking for negative feedback. The feedback system is by far the biggest joke on this site. Someone should make a poll asking if the feedback system is handled properly.

Unsuprisingly, wicked fails to read the thread.wicked wrote:Feedback Instructions wrote:Do not leave feedback for trivial things like missing an occasional turn.

This would be why you have left 5 odd pages of feedback then?oggiss wrote:Why do you guys whine about feedback system? Not many players give a shit about it
Mind you, some of the feedbacks you left and received (of which there were nearly as many, interestingly) brought tears of laughter to my eyes.

maybe instead of whining about it you could try and suggest some changes you think would be beneficial so then we dont have to look at tripe like this
i havent had any problems with the system at all

I have to agree the feedback system doesn't make sense.
In a game with 3 remaining players (counting myself) one player suicided on me and as a result the 3rd player killed us both the next turn. I left a feedback on the suicider saying that "he suicided and gave the game to a third player."
It was removed for not being factual...if that isn't factual what is?

Ahem! I think the mods only get involved with feedback when there is a complaint about it.
If I had a say in it, there would be no feedback system and no ranking/point system. I would have randomn giveaways to players who win randomnly selected games.
I would give away new Porsches, dishwashers, and maybe a date with Wicked (and she could wash your dishes for you!)
But then we would have to deal with multis extremely harsh! (like shooting them or beheading).

Well let me add my rant here as well.......
This is my first negative feedback and I never deadbeat, my modem went south and I was on the phone with Cox Internet for almost 35 minutes trying to resolve the issue, but nothing came of it. So I dug through some old computer parts and found an old cable modem and boom it worked, So if there is anyway to remove this neg, as I understand missing a few turns does not justify this neg, as it didnt in Minister Masket case during the BR when he never took a trun......

Hi hundredand1aces,
As much as I would like to help you, feedback about deadbeating is permitted. You could find a way to settle this with -Maximus- if you want this removed.

Well then why did Minister Masket get his negative removed during the BR, as he deadbeated that game and yall removed over 30 ngs off his feedback????
Friday, February 22 2008 9:47am
I was also in another game, at the same time and was out of it as well, so your internet connection going south is a reason for a neg?????

Not to mention, with the game in question, the game had not even made as it was awaiting players when I lost my connection, the other game I was in at the time I had taken several turns and lost ou on it as well. http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=1860155
Friday, February 22 2008 12:14pm
The game started at 2008-02-20 16:01:27 - Game has been initialized. And heres where I end 2008-02-20 16:27:47 - hundredand1aces was kicked out for missing too many turns. So I missed 26 minutes of a game and Minister misses 50 minuets and his neg's get removed....So the rules are different for different people????
king achilles (Monday, February 25 2008 7:57pm)
Hi again,
Your comparison for Minister Masket's miss turn in that game is not the same. He was only able to miss one turn and got eliminated by an opponent. You missed three turns for this game and was eliminated because of missing too many turns. You were not eliminated by any player.
Tuesday, February 26 2008 7:39am
Oh I see your logic, he held the game up for well over 30 minutes and I held my game up for 15....BRILLIANT!!!!!!
Tuesday, February 26 2008 7:40am
As his excuse was that his wireless router came unplugged when his mom was vacuming, well my modem crapped out....not much difference there......we both lost are connection

whatever though, I am starting to realize that I may have wasted my $$$ buying a preium memebership....

Gee I guess my router heading south for the winter is intentional deadbeating.....But like I said earlier this place may have been a waste of my money.
Guess this about sums it up a guy never takes a turn(deadbeats) during a BR and gets his negs removed......he missed almost an hour of the game but it was only his 2nd turn so its okay. Some one needs to get a !#%^%*! clue!!!!!!!
