Yah, seriously! It's like I spend my time working hard to earn my money, and then I have to give some of it to the government! I mean, come on, how will I ever hit Scrooge McDuck wealthy at this rate?

I want me, and ten generations of my family swimming in gold. I'm talking about a money bukkake. Yet I don't even have a jewel-encrusted crown to wear while I sit on my throne and survey my vast land-holdings. Truly a sad day for Amer...no...the world!

Re: Capitalism sucks
I've said it all already; every form of government is great in theory. Only when you apply it does it fail. The reason? Human fallibility and the 'look-out-for my-own-self" mentality. the strong get rich, the rest get boned.ignotus wrote:discuss!

*capitalism does not suck.* Parts of it allow for incredible amounts of growth, while parts of it certainly dehumanize and regrettably its the first part we pay the most attention to.
*a public service annoucement for anyone who having read everything ive posted believes im staunchy anti-capitalist and fill in whatever you want about me sleeping in trees*

Fucking idiot. China is as capitalist as anyone now. Their "communist" economic system died years ago, and when it did, their economy shot to the moon.ignotus wrote: But most of the parts were made in Communist Peoples Republic of China...![]()

If they had not adopted capitalist principles years ago they would be like the other famous asian communist country, North Korea, that has millions of people starving to death each year.
You won't find 100 economist in the world who would willingly live in a communist economy.
Taxes have precious little to do with the economic theory pursued by your local or federal government. If you think American taxes are bad, don't move.Frigidus wrote:Yah, seriously! Their system was a laughable attempt at real communism. I'm not saying I support communism, but China can't be used as an example.Harijan wrote:Fucking idiot. China is as capitalist as anyone now. Now days China became one of the countries in which you can see how capitalism really transforms the society.

According to wikipedia (I realize wikipedia can be questionable at times...), the People's Republic of China is still run by a communist party. Am I missing something?Harijan wrote:Fucking idiot. The name of the political party is "communist" much like the U.S. is run by republicans. Even though China are moving away from a communist economic system, and have been for years the leading political party has never changed its name OR its official economic system which is still officially and beurocratically communist.browng-08 wrote:According to wikipedia (I realize wikipedia can be questionable at times...), the People's Republic of China is still run by a communist party. Right now, China's Economy is in some kind of a weird communist/capitalist hybrid transition system. Not really a name for it ATM.

... But in the US, unlike many parts of the world, if you work hard and don't be stupid (invest, then reinvest gains long-term), anybody can join the ranks of the "Evil Rich".browng-08 wrote:The rich always win...a-person1192 wrote:the rich love capitalism the poor hate every thing about it.

Yes, but the US also don't have the greatest public transport. It's all about privatisation over there. Don't you think that is a little extreme?Nobunaga wrote:... Unfortunately, those that can gain most from elevating themselves to "evil rich" are the ones that lack the education or the initial funds to do so.Nobunaga wrote:... Being able to invest in things is great, but it dosesn't help too much when you never got the education. Or invest badly and lose everything. Or never manage to earn enough to both keep yourself (and dependants) alive and invest. Or...
For an intelligent middle class person with reasonable luck, this is a great way to make themselves wealthier. The lower classess, however, form a larger percentage of the population and don't commonly have the chance to do this.

Capitalism really works at making an awesome economy with a large percentage of poverty and even global domination, but it also works perfectly in killing the human's mind and soul
That human will have no other goal than to "swim in riches" as the previous few posters said
Damn their neighbors, damn politics, and damn whatever else that will not benefit their pockets
I personally support Socialism. 70% (example) goes to taxes leaving you with 30% for your own personal use
the 30% will be MORE than enough. It will be sufficient in keeping your family alive; not "swimming in riches"
The other 70% goes to give you, your family, your neighbor, and every breathing soul with the mind to comprehend between right and wrong free medical care- dentists, surgery, whatever it may be
And nothing is so gosh darn expensive... Like paying citizens in other nations who failed to eat dinner the night before, 25 cents a day's earning
And then selling that product and making a well over 3000% profit
Socialism is also alot more poverty friendly than capitalism
Capitalism on the other hand, the rich get richer; the poor get poorer
