Larger Signature Character Limit

Suggestion Idea: Larger Signature Character Limit

Specifics: Raise the limit to 300

Why it is needed: I can barely get my sig in there. I mean it is AT the max of 250. With the URL's taken up so many characters would it be possible to raise it to 300?

Use http://www.tinyurl.com to make links smaller, and save pictures to your computer and upload them to http://www.tinypic.com to make their urls smaller.

I'm pretty sure the limits are 600 x 150, which would mean that your signature (150 height image + text link) is already in violation.

Increasing the 255 character limit would be nice, but that would mean changing the database field itself (that way you could multiple links in your sig). Right now it's a char field (max 255). In order to accommodate your request it would have to be changed to a blob field (max 4000). Just a slight difference in required database space. In order to alleviate this - he would need to compact the database - taking yet more server processing power away from actually serving up games.

Mine is slightly longer and slightly higher than yours. Second when i say 250 i mean the amount of characters you can input into the sig box

i get annoyed by the character limit as well, images use a lot of characters and dont leave much rooms for anything else, even if the image itself is small

i was trying to change my signature and i replaced the characters with the EXACT same amount of characters AND got rid of image (no image in the new sig i want) but it says "your signature is too long" even though it technically shorter and shorter in width and has less characters

Who really cares? Right now you're pushing the limit, and if he raises it you'll be pushing the limit again in a couple months begging for more space. It's just a signature... if you can't fit all 5 of your images in at once, maybe you should just use 4?

Geez, you people need to learn how to use your computers... Have a lot of text in your signature eating up your character limit? Make it an image file. Have 50'000'000'000 pictures in your signature and the links are eating up your character limit? Mash it into one big image. Already done all this stuff and it still isn't working? Use http://www.tinypic.com and http://www.tinyurl.com to fix that. After ALL that and it STILL isn't working, well, it's just a signature so suck it up! It's not that important and is just meant to be a little thing, not a massively huge behemoth, biggerandhasmorequantatythanmypost thing! Just small. Geez... And lastly:

what about me! i got no pics, just quotes from games with friends that i feel need to be shared! i have another one i want to add but its gonna have to wait until the limit is raised or i get tired of the current ones

Aerial Attack went over how you actually CAN'T just change it in 5 seconds and why it wouldn't work... Basically, here it is for the average layman to understand:
Larger character limit = SLOW ASS SERVER!
Slow ass server = slow game loads
slow game loads = BAD!!!!!

It's 144 pixels (total for both pictures) high, with an unfortunately large file size of just under 340kb's (total, for both pictures, again). Your signature banner is 150 pixels high plus a line of text making it above the size limit of 150 pixels. So, technically, you're breaking the rules every time you post. You have a medium file size of about 67kb's total.

And ya, mine says "hecter" in it, so what? What else was I going to say in it? Sorry for not being creative enough to not only make my own signature, but have some kind of witty and readable quote in my signature banner for you.
