Now, the website management have REMOVED both of the SaintCrispy's lines quoted above, only my posting remains there.

This is so-o-o-o whimpy! and, oh, is so-o-o-o wrong as well: not only SaintCrispy is not punished for the unacceptably behavior but there is NO EVIDENCE of his/her wrongdoing any longer.

Unimaginably silly, isn't it? And quite immature to boot. They should have erased the offender immediately but left the posts, not the other way around, I say, or just stay out of it altogether. Yeah, wimps they are!

It's an abhorrent word and one which i personally would never use!

But are you in fact Black Gskur? And if you are how could the offender possibly know?

I know this seems a moot point but you have to consider the reclaiming of the word by black people of a certain generation and it's change of use in modern day youth culture.

You see, me being white i would in no way take offense if someone called me a 'Nigger' .. i would likely think that the talker was an idiot .. unless they were saying it in parody.

What i am saying is this may not have been said with racist intent it could have been just an idiot parroting what he had heard 'on the street' said with a posh English accent! ... or on television.

First off, we don't delete game chats at all, if you aren't seeing his messages any more it's because you have him on ignore.

As to the 2 posts he made in the forum - editing them is the fastest way to stop them from turning into the flames that people like this want to happen.

It looks like his account was taken over by someone he knows - if he has joined games and become abusive I will be busting him soon.

Please keep me up to date on his language and actions in your games so that I can take action (you can imagine me filtering through all the game logs might take a while )

True, the offender could not know this, be it one way or another. However, my or anybody else's race (even SaintCrispy's!) is of no real relevance to the incident. Besides, if one wants to see it as a relevant factor here, this person would undoubtedly and inevitably work himself into believing it being one way or another, regardless of what might be asserted by others. I am not implying you being on this path, simply pointing out the inappropriateness of the very question you posed.

I see your point here. However, it should not be used out of the blue, definitely not to anyone you do not know, and ABSOLUTELY NOT in a public forum. Besides, it is clearly not used in a way or in a context a black person would use it (as far as I know)---which unequivocally tells anyone with a good ear for languages that SaintCrispy is one dumb (lol) white dude.

This could be true, I'd agree with you, but only if this person has quite recently moved into the real world from somewhere, say, in the Eastern Europe, like Russia or Poland, where they have no long-standing real history of racism but, rather, a prominent one of brutal nationalism. So, if it is something like that, this SaintCrispy guy must be a very-very stupid person not to understand what he's doing. I think his overall game record does not warrant this (desirable) possibility, wouldn't you agree?

I'd say, ban guys like this immediately, no questions asked! Soon they will tire of signing up and go somewhere else. Besides, if anyone took over my account, I'd be begging for cancellation.

The point I was making is that, how can a word or phrase (particularly this word which is ambiguous as to intent in todays world) be directed as a racist attack when your race can not be discerned?


And as we now have a generation of people who use the word without the original context in mind. Not in any way as racist derogation.

This is not about unconsciously racist Eastern Europeans, it is about young white people, yellow people, brown people.. hey why not green people who have been influenced by the prevalent urban street culture which is largely dominated by African Americanisms.
