Fog of War - Game Log (merged)
When losing a country with Fog of War on, if the country lost is no longer adjacent to one of your currently owned countries the game log will state "2007-10-24 06:20:47 - <attacker> attacked ? from ? and conquered it from CandaVespin"
Shouldn't this show the country that was lost and from which country it was attacked? As the owner of that country previously, I should know which one was attacked and who attacked it. that doesn't mean other people who are not adjacent to the country should, but I as the owner, and the attacker should both know which was attacked and from where.

well obviously, if this were to become an option, it would be to prevent you from entering the games, so that would have to change...its not like a setting you don't like can join a game you started...The1exile wrote:don't think it'd work, you can apparently still join games with people on your ignore list, just not the other way around.s.xkitten wrote:has anyone ever wished they could put a game type on their ignore list, so they don't accidentally join one?
Fog of War : Game Log problem
Firstly, I fully agree with the problem described in "Fog of War : Country Loss" topic (http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30668). But there is more!
When a visible to me opponent's country is reenforced from an invisible to me country, the game log lists the VISIBLE to me country as "?", not just the one I cannot see---this is very bad indeed. The only reason I noticed this is that I was watching while an opponent was taking his turn...
Any thoughts?

Fog of War Broken..Game Log != Game Map
Until the game log accurately reflects what I can see on the game map with my adjacent countries, fog of war is BROKEN.
There are FAR too many ??'s in the game log when they should be defined as countries given I am adjacent to them and can see the armies.
Simple as that. As it stands right now, the game log shouldn't even exist for FOW games....it's completely worthless.
I'm going to deadbeat my one and only game and will never play another one again until it's fixed.

How would that work in the game log though, if everyone is reading the same log?CandaVespin wrote:I should know which one was attacked and who attacked it. that doesn't mean other people who are not adjacent to the country should, but I as the owner, and the attacker should both know which was attacked and from where.

That log will have to only display information to a certian account...wicked wrote:How would that work in the game log though, if everyone is reading the same log?
Re: Fog of War - Game Log (merged)
That sounds.... complicated. But I'll let Lack talk to even if that's possible. No matter what we do, it's not going to appease everyone. Some are already calling for less info in the log. Maybe after we've played this game type for awhile, we can see what would work best... maybe even have options in what info is shown in the game log. But for now, it's too new and people are just reacting to the change. Let's play it for awhile and then decide.spiesr wrote:That log will have to only display information to a certian account...wicked wrote:How would that work in the game log though, if everyone is reading the same log?

I'd rather not see who a territory is conquered from. As it is now, you can figure out how many territories each person has from the log.wicked wrote:Some are already calling for less info in the log.

agreed it actually is too easy to work out, especially when people start fortingBaldAdonis wrote:I'd rather not see who a territory is conquered from. As it is now, you can figure out how many territories each person has from the log.
Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

It's not about more info, it's not about less info. The map's representation of the game is perfect. Just make the log match it.wicked wrote:That sounds.... complicated.
