Nostradamus is not a reliable predictor of anything. I read the whole Erika Cheetham book when I was at uni, and still have it. He foretold very little with any accuracy.
There is only one specific date in there: July 1999, and nothing happened.
There are some vague references, eg "The blood of the just in London will be demanded in three times 20 plus 6", which could refer to the great fire of London in 1666.
There are astronomical events (eg Mars conjunction with Jupiter, interpreted as bringing great war) - these happen periodically so can't be pinned to specific events or dates. Some of the prophesied events derive from astrological interpretations, and as we already know, astrology is complete and utter nonsense.
There is a reference to "the middle of the prophet's name" - this could be a religious prophet, or even himself.

The main problem is that it's written in a combination of old French and Latin, requiring translation, interpretation of anagrams (eg CHIREN to be interpreted as HENRIC, meaning King Henry, if you want it to) and vague imagery. Lines such as "The third antichrist soon annihilated" could actually be translated "The antichrist soon annihilates the three" - at the time of the book, this was also interpreted to mean communism and the Kennedy brothers.
Some stuff is interesting and could be interpreted to fit with some events (eg predicting an air battle, the downfall of communism) - but, although I was initially a fan, I'd have to say that it's no more use as a predictor or explanation of events than any religious text.
Other idiots decided that each quatrain was actually an anagram, mainly so that they could get publicity by crowbarring Reagan and "Thatcher en Bretagne" into it and set the events in the 1980s - which is also utter nonsense, since one was allowed to have letters left over.

I would not be relying on it to know what's going to happen. Any country that funds and supports Islamic terrorism (or any other form) is a threat.

Apatheist, Do you realize that ConfedSs LOVES these wild crazy ideas and predictions that has a small kernel of POSSIBLE Truth buried below LOTS of layers? The Crazier the notion (such as Bigfoot) the better the idea to spread and Try to Defend for him.

and please also ignore his ellipses, his huge and large font, and his errors: Grammatical, Historical, Scientific, and others, too. :D

I do, I get what he's about, it's just immature rage bait. That's why you'll find that each one is shut down quickly with irrefutable facts and logic to which he will never have an answer, and that will end the discussion because he's not getting the reaction he needs. After a few he might actually grow up and stop trying to seek attention this way - it might take a while, but we'll get there.

A cage of steel could also be an elevator, or a plane, or a train - or just a cage. The bible was written in about 320 AD, by men - who left out the gospel according to Mary, which one might surmise was a bit more relevant than any of the others. In the section about the lost ark of the covenant - which I looked up at the time of the film - there's a mention of golden haemorrhoids. Why? It's a sanitised version of the phrase "piles of gold". That calls into question anything in the book, since you can't trust the translation - and Hebrew was the worst language it could have been written in, since written Hebrew doesn't use vowels. There's no such thing as correct prophecies, only coincidences.
If "ALL" of Nostradamus' predictions have come true, then we don't need to worry about what he said any more, do we? They've all happened.
Please move on to another paranoid conspiracy theory, you're just looking silly now on this one.

Just because you want something to be true to fit your narrative, it doesn't mean it is true.
Steel was first produced around 1800 BC.
The King's helmet thing actually referred to a "gilded cage", ie golden, and was understood in his lifetime, because Henry II wore a golden helmet, which is why he was summoned to the French court to explain it.
The actual verse is:
"Le lyon ieune le vieux surmontera,
En champ bellique par singulier duelle,
Dans caige d'or ses yeux luy verra,
Deux plaies une, puis mourir mort cruelle."

Accepted translation:
"The young lion will overcome the older one,
On the field of combat in a single battle;
He will pierce his eyes through a golden cage,
Two wounds made one, then he dies a cruel death."

This could have come from a vision; equally, knowing the King had such a helmet, it could just be a lucky guess on the balance of probabilities. I predict that a team wearing red or blue will win the Barclays Premier League this year; given that that's happened every year except one (and they wear white and blue) since its inception in 1992, there's a pretty decent chance I'll be right.

PS There's no mention of Princess Grace in the Cheetham book that I read in 1980/81, since she died in 1982.
Pakistan-India war began in May 1999, not July, which is when it actually ended.

As usual, ConfedSs confuses FACTS, and thus posts errors.

Second, his posts contains at least one, and often many, errors, and he REFUSES to acknowledge them.

Third, much of what he posts is incoherence and confusion and random rantings, and little else. There may be a KERNEL of truth somewhere in his post. I am not sure I found it.

Fourth, and this may be the KEY point about Nostradamus
AI Summary (#1)
To explore Nostradamus's predictions for 2025, consider the following points:

Nostradamus's writings are often cryptic and open to interpretation.
Predictions for 2025 include potential global conflicts and political upheaval.
Some interpretations suggest environmental disasters may occur.**
Economic instability and shifts in power dynamics are also forecasted.**
Advances in technology could lead to significant societal changes.
Many predictions are vague, making them subject to personal interpretation.
Much of what Nostradamus predicted are subject to cryptic words and ideas. They are very OPEN to interpretation, and as such, is not alway accurate and certainly NOT definitive.
** other than the impacts of Climate Change and (mostly) Global Warming, I am not aware of major environmental disasters. There are always fires, storms, and floods somewhere, so predictions of such are not valid, unless given specific dates or more specificity than I have seen, read, or heard. The same for
Economic instability and shifts in power dynamics

To explore Nostradamus's predictions for a specific year, consider these key points:

Review the specific quatrains associated with that year.
Analyze historical events that align with his predictions.
Consider the interpretations of various scholars and historians.
Look for recurring themes in his prophecies, such as war or natural disasters.
Examine the context of the time when Nostradamus wrote his predictions.
Keep in mind that interpretations can vary widely and are often speculative.

To understand whether Nostradamus's predictions included specific years, consider the following points:

Nostradamus wrote in quatrains, often vague and open to interpretation.
Many of his predictions do not specify exact dates or years.$$
Some interpretations suggest he hinted at events occurring in the 21st century.
A few followers claim to have identified specific years based on his writings.
The ambiguity of his language makes definitive dating challenging.
Most scholars agree that his work is more about themes than precise timelines.
$$ I think that Apatheist has addressed this issue.

As far as predicting the end of the world, there have been Hundreds. So far, ALL have been WRONG. Even the great Isaac Newtion made inquiries into such things, trying to interpret the Book of Revelation and he did not give us any insights there.

To understand Newton's writings on the Book of Revelation, consider these key points:

Newton viewed the Book of Revelation as a prophetic text with historical significance.
He believed it contained coded messages about the future of Christianity and the world.
Newton analyzed the symbolism and numerology within the text to uncover hidden meanings.
He linked the prophecies to contemporary events of his time, particularly the rise of secularism.
Newton's interpretations were influenced by his theological beliefs and scientific worldview.
His writings on Revelation reflect a blend of faith, science, and a quest for understanding divine truth.

To explore whether Newton had insights about the end of the world, consider the following points:

Newton wrote extensively on biblical prophecy, particularly in his work "Observations upon the Prophecies of Daniel and the Apocalypse of St. John."
He believed that the world would end in a future event, but he did not specify a date.
Newton's calculations were based on his interpretations of scripture rather than scientific evidence.

He was more focused on understanding the natural laws governing the universe than predicting apocalyptic events.
His insights were rooted in a theological context, reflecting his deep interest in religion and prophecy.
Overall, while he had thoughts on the end times, they were not scientifically grounded predictions.
and this is an interesing READ:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_d ... tic_events

from that source, this is interesting:
Little research has been carried out into the reasons people have made apocalyptic predictions in modern times.[4] Historically, such predictions have been made for the purpose of diverting attention from actual crises like poverty and war, pushing political agendas, or promoting hatred of certain groups;[5] antisemitism was a popular theme of Christian apocalyptic predictions in medieval times, while some French and Lutheran depictions of the apocalypse were known to feature English and Catholic antagonists, respectively.[5][6] According to psychologists, possible explanations for why people believe in modern apocalyptic predictions include: mentally reducing the actual danger in the world to a single and definable source; an innate human fascination with fear; personality traits of paranoia and powerlessness; and a modern romanticism related to end-times, resulting from its portrayal in contemporary fiction.[4][7]

Apatheist and Justprotectpedos, go on and on about how ridiculous and conspiracy driven that ConfederateSS is, yet they gang up on him. Glad that Apatheist and the pedophile protector have found each other, while they spread their verified religious and political views that only a very small minority believe in or follow.

Boy-O-Boy, when the pedophile protector has someone in his target....he won't stop his infantile insults.

At least ConfederateSS does not go on some holy crusade of retribution against his fellow posters. Some of us are actually entertained by his style in posting. While the pedophile protector will point out spelling/grammar errors and post obvious bullsh!t as his alternative truths.

Love him or hate him, ConfederateSS has every right to post his views here. The same right that is given to hypocrites who think they come off as intellectuals or policy wonks.

Your arguments are somewhat hypocritical and incorrect.
Yes, he has a right to post his views, and we have a right to correct, criticise, disagree and refute, particularly when what he purports to be facts simply aren't. Personally, I'm ignoring the grammar and spelling, not insulting anyone, and just dealing as far as possible with facts. Some things are a matter of opinion, so we're just expressing a different opinion. I explained elsewhere why I don't believe in any religions.
There's no connection between a conspiracy theory and more than one person thinking it's wrong, that's not another "conspiracy theory"; I suspect if you look at any conspiracy theory, you'll find that fewer people believe it than don't (eg flat earth, anti-vax etc).
It's also incorrect to say that "a very small minority" share our views. Most people in the world aren't card-carrying Christians - it's the biggest, but only 2.5 out of 8 billion. There's around 900 million atheists or agnostics. Most don't believe that the world is only 7000 years old. Most people believe that the Earth is around 4.5 billion years old, and dinosaurs existed. I don't know where you get your assessment from that we're in a very small minority.
You criticise him for infantile insults, yet call him by an insulting name.
As I have tried to identify, ConfedSS does not post truths - eg steel wasn't around in the middle ages, when in fact a basic search says it was invented in 1800 BC. Nostradamus only put one specific date in the prophecies. I'm just trying to avoid the perpetuation of falsehoods. I'm quite happy for anyone to post facts, however they choose; just not nonsense that isn't true.
I won't accept the Bible as a source of truths since, in my opinion, it isn't. Obviously some of it is based on a biased interpretation of stories of things that happened; but for example, based on its own description (as well as other evidence from around the world), the star of Bethlehem was quite clearly a comet, and the eruption of Santorini led to the plagues.

Everyone OF COURSE is entitled to his or her opinion and to POST THEM. Some post good ideas and some post garbage, and some of that is dependent on one’s views and interpretation of events and facts. Some are incoherent, some are thoughtful, and some post one liners, and some post insults.

As far as my responses to pack rat, what does he post? And if do not respond to his ad hominem attacks and insults, where are we? He continues to post insults and thinks I am a wimp. Is that what you are advocating? I do not chose that outcome. I defend my views, offer comments to support my views, offer evidence, offer analysis, and offer few apologies if I do view my posts are attacked by stupid comments and by insults.

Please read more than a FEW OF HIS posts and mine before you offer a cursory assessment. I will say that you do NOT have the BIG Picture here, Apatheist. YOU ONLY HAVE POSTED IN what, the past 10-14 days? Read how many posts here in this Forum? And what does pack rat post? You read several more and then offer a more comprehensive assessment, Apatheist. That is what I ask of you.

And lastly, having engages in discussions with me, do find me offering only repetitive insults? One liner replies? Expletive laced comments? Please read more.

I was responding to Pack Rat's criticism of you!! I agree with you (on this topic at least). I wasn't criticising YOU at all - please have a look at the order in which these were posted :) I think we're actually on the same side entirely here, and elsewhere. All of these comments were directed at Pack Rat, not you. I find your analysis sensible and well-founded, and (apart from the odd comment) I agree with what you post and how you post it. I also appreciate your acknowledgement of my earlier comments.

I am not sure that ConFedSs is explained with such a cursory and limited theory. I do not find him as FULL of age or prone to ONLY "rage bait." I often find ConfedSs thoughtful, caring, and wanting to spread good feelings in ALL of CC. He offers birthday wishes to nearly all active and engaged players. THAT is a GOOD thing by a GOOD GUY. THANKS, again, for these, ConfedSs.

Now, recently, he has been more prone to outrage (as I see things), partly because I will point out and press him to admit his errors. And Some have been "WHOPPERS" like the Sistine vs the 16th Chapel. And that Texas man, who shot several and killed two in Austin, Texas, DID arrive into in US in the year 2000 (NOT 2,000, the year) AND was NOT let him by Biden (as ConfedSs has alleged), as he became a naturalized citizen well before Biden took office in 2021.

The man suspected of killing two people and injuring 14 others when he opened fire on patrons outside a bar in Austin, Texas, early Sunday had a history of mental illness, sources familiar with the investigation told NBC News.

Ndiaga Diagne, 53, was a Senegalese national and naturalized U.S. citizen living in Pflugerville, according to four law enforcement officials. (...)

A Homeland Security official told NBC News that Diagne first entered the U.S. entered on March 13, 2000, on a B-2 tourist visa. He became a lawful permanent resident in 2006 based on marriage to a U.S. citizen and a naturalized citizen in 2013, the official said.
