In two recent “parachute” reinforce games I have tried to reinforce from one area but ended up reinforcing from another which I had not clicked on at all, with the default area to reinforce from apparently being the place with the most troops.
While this seems logical from one perspective I would think it would be unintuitive to most players, and in any case if they want to reinforce from that area it would be one click extra for them, not a big problem.
My suggestion then is simply this; have the “reinforce from” field cleared on every move, making the player explicitly choose where he wants to reinforce from.
And I would also suggest this for initial troop reinforcements, no need to have one area auto-selected to start one's turn, risking accidental troop deployment there by simply left-clicking on it.
If this is difficult to code for some reason (I realize these things can be a lot more complex than they might seem to an outsider) then maybe a workaround would be to search for a 1-troop territory to default to so that no accidental reinforce from there is possible.
Make the reinforce function reset to null after each turn.

It resets to the first on the list every time.. Which is usually alphabetical or numerical order, or a combination of both.
You not fortifying how you wanted seems like a personal issue and you need to get use to the game.
