The Terminator game type is a popular variation of the classic settings in everybody's favourite global-domination game.
With the ever increasing number of maps and game settings that the CC Admin and Community have produced, it certainly takes lots of skill to master each of them and still be able to call yourself a 'Master of Terminator' games.
This tournament will pit players against others on each of their favourite Terminator game settings, and see who is truly the Master of Terminator!
Each round, you will play a two sets of five 5-player games (1 home and 4 away).
Players will be awarded points based on their kills within each of the games.
At the end of each round, the 10* players with the lowest scores will be eliminated from the tournament.
Points for each round are cumulative, i.e. they carry over from previous rounds; but older rounds will decrease their weightage at a compounded rate of 50% reduction per round.
This will carry on until we have the final 5, where two sets of 5 games will be played (1 home for each finalist, and 5 other randomly selected maps used in the tournament).
The player with the highest score at the end of the final round wins the tournament!
Opponents will be assigned by Random.org. (*Number may change, depending on signups.)
Point Award System Kill: 4 points Consecutive Kill: 5 points Winning Kill: +1 point
For example:
Player A kills Player C.
Player B kills Player D.
Player B kills Player E.
Player A kills Player B.
Player A gets 4 points for first kill, and 4+1 points for winning kill (total 9 points). Player B gets 4 points for second kill, and 5 points for third kill (total 9 points).
Anomalous Wins / Eliminations
Wins by fulfilling win conditions (on maps that have them) will give the winner 3 points for every other surviving player.
Wins by round limit will give the winner 1 point for every other surviving/deadbeat player.
Deadbeats (who aren't eliminated before the end) will count as 2 points for the player who made the winning kill / fulfils the win condition.
Here's the twist: all points awarded on your home settings will be doubledmultiplied 1.75x when added to your point totals.
This means that your selection of home map and settings is especially important, as it can truly make a huge difference to your standing in the tournament!
Before choosing your settings, do bear in mind that games that end as a result of the 20 Round limit give drastically lower point totals than from kills, so it's in your best interest to avoid settings where that might happen.
The possible home settings you are allowed to choose from are as follows:
Map: Any non-Beta map (including Random), except Conquer Man, Hive, and USA2.1. Spoils: Escalating, Flat Rate, Nuclear or No Spoils Reinforcements: Chained, Adjacent, Unlimited or Parachute FoW: Sunny or Foggy
All other settings will be fixed as follows:
Game Type: Terminator Players: 5 Players Troops: Automatic Order: Sequential Trench: No Round Limit: 20 Rounds
Players will be ranked according to the round they got eliminated. The above tiebreaker rules will also be applied among players eliminated in the same round, for greater differentiation between ranks.
The tournament can take a minimum of 32 players, and a maximum of 50 players.
When signing up, please include your chosen settings from the list indicated above! (See the 'Settings' tab.) Players that do not indicate their settings will be assigned Random, Escalating, Chained, Sunny. You will not be able to change your settings once the tournament starts, so be sure of your choice!
