Official CC Awards *Pending*

I think there are many players here on CC that deserves special attention and applaus - for different reasons.

So how about giving them an award?

In december (because its end of year - but could be some other time too) the different awards can be given out after voting. The award itself is a well-designed icon that will be linked to the player that wins it. On the scoreboard there could be s seperate column that states Awards - and here the icons will be placed.

Some awards suggestions:

1. Best map design - playability
2. Best map design - graphics
3. The Sportmanships Award (for fair games and good behavior)
4. The Creativity Award - (for being creative in arranging tournys or other stuff here on CC)
5. The Forum award (for being a cool and collected contributor for keeping the CC forum a place well worth visiting)
6. The CC Player Of The Year award (not because u are numero uno on scorelist - but because u have shown good game tactics and well crafted strategies in your games)

These are just suggestions... there should be at least 10-12 different awards - but not to many either.

A week before voting the different categories will have seperate threads here on forum and people can then nominate there candidates for that particular award (with a short reason for the nomination). A jury (lets say 3 people will then choose the 5 people in each category that will be the final nominees - the rules for this job is eiether because someone is nominated the most or because there was a very good reason given for the nomination). The jury will the present the final 5 in each category on polls here on CC - and the winner will emerge in each after we good people take our votes.

Jobs necessery to pull this of:
1. Need some to design the different icons
2. Need someone to supervise the whole and that cxould be:
3. The jury (and they cannot be nominated themselves - so they will get their Jury Award 2005 for doing this job)


What u all think - our very own Oscar Galla - we could call it The Conquer Galla and The Conquer Awards (The Conquer Award for best map design - graphics, The Conquer Award for player of the year etc etc etc)

Its a new thing anyway and just thought it could be fun.

It's an interesting idea, I'd say Lack and Twill are too busy to coordinate it, so you'd probably have to do it as an "idependant" thing, which also means unless you're very lucky you're not going to get the icons on the scoreboard. But I think it's a nice idea anyway, if done well.

another thing is some of the catagories like these:

should be only awarded to the same person once

but awards like this:
1. Best map design - playability
2. Best map design - graphics

should be able to go to the same person more than once (Jota)

Official CC Awards are currently Pending further evaluation. Lack is more focused on gameplay and general site improvements at the moment, rather than nice extras.

Perhaps, since this isn't really a task that requires Lack, we could have people do it them selves and Lack just.... endorse it?

I agree with all of what you are saying, but all who make General status should get an award or awards as well, along with the other awards you suggested, perhaps an added free year membership along with a special symbol, just a thought.

You DO get a special symbol, the General's star.

Edit: And with the way the scoreboard works right now, I think its pretty easy to achieve any rank you like. So I dont think any rewards such as premium membership should be handed out solely based on rank.

You could also do like highest games won percentage award, most games played, most games won, most games lost...etc
