At the peak of the Cold War, both United States and the Soviet Union have decided to train eight warriors each so they could battle for world domination. The best two warriors between the eight of each side will decide who wins the war.
So... crappy story? For sure! But cool tournament idea? Perhaps!
The tournament will be composed by three phases. An initial group phase, a playoff phase and a grand final. When entering the competition, the player will have to choose one of two sides: USA or USSR.
Example:
I'm in. I'll be playing for team USA.
There has to be 8 guys playing for USA and 8 guys playing for the Soviet Union. If one of the countries has already 8 players, people still can join in the team, but will be part of the reserves and may not play the tournament.
Freemiums are welcome as long as they leave one slot open for the tournament.

Phase one: 1vs1 games. random map. four 4-player groups. Two USA groups and two USSR groups. 3 games. Three points per win. Zero per defeat. If the game ends after the 20 rounds, the winner will get 2 points and the loser 1. If two players are tied at the end of the group stage, the winner of the game between them will be above the loser. If more than 2 players are tied at the end of the group stage, a playoff will be played to decide who goes through the next phase and wich place they take, determined by who was the last to lose. First and second of each group advances to phase two.
Phase two: 1vs1 games. Four games. Elimination phase. 1st and 2nd of the USA groups and USSR groups play among themselves to decide which two players will represent their country in the final game. Map: USA for the american games and Soviet Union for the soviet games.
USA Vs USSR: Doubles game. The four winners of the playoff will play. Map: Arms Race. The winner team wins the tournament!

Reserve policy:
- In the first game, i will send an invitation. If it's not accepted, I will send another one. If the second is not accepted as well, the player(s) at stake will be eliminated from the tournament and replaced by a reserve.
- In the games after the first one, i will send an invitation. If it's not accepted, I will send another one. If the second is not accepted as well, the player(s) at stake will lose the game but continue to play the tournament.
Players will be randomly seeded in the groups using http://www.random.org
