Welcome to the King of the Map Series! This is a series I initially started back in June of 2008, but failed to continue. I've decided to restart it, and progress through each of CC's maps. We are currently still near the top of the alphabetical map list.
This is a 1v1 bracket, featuring Cairns Coral Coast. All settings will be Automatic, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, and Foggy.
PLEASE NOTE: There are two additions I’m making to the rules here. Number one, I do not and will not enforce a foggy rule. If you want to contact your opponent, and agree to wait for snapshots, that’s fine, but I as host will not enforce any such rule. If I find that players are being aggressive in getting their opponent to agree to a foggy rule (such as giving bad ratings for not waiting on the snap, or making a threat of bad ratings), the aggressive player may find themselves removed from the tournament, and black listed from future tournaments. Conquer Club has no “foggy rule”, and it is a part of the game that sometimes you start first, and sometimes you start second, and you may not always get the benefit of a snapshot.
Number 2, there are some players who have habitually abused my system of sending a pm by ignoring the pm to join their games, and waiting for me to send an invite (which typically happens after their opponent has joined the games first). I view this as abusing my graciousness to obtain an advantage in the game, either by sniping the first turn, or guaranteeing themselves a snapshot in the event they go second. THIS WILL NO LONGER BE TOLERATED. Players who I’ve found to be HABITUALLY ignoring my pm’s will be subject to forfeiture. I understand that sometimes people have sitters who don’t join games for them, so I will be employing this rule at my discretion. (By “habitually”, I mean players who consistently, whether it’s all the time, or just frequently, do not join after the first pm)
I'll be accepting 32 players. Matchups will be determined using the list randomizer on random.org. You will then be placed in a bracket. Each round will be a best of 5. I will create 3 games per round to start. If the first three games do not result in a sweep, I will then create 2 additional games to finish the round out. (this will allow freemium members to participate) The player that wins three games advances to the next round.
The winner of the final pairing will be named "King/Queen of the Map!"
