He never got more troops than he was going to get. he would have gotten the 20 from round "x", then 20 or more from Round "x+1". So I don't see where this bonus is.
Secondly, this was put into effect because of the Double turn that was occurring with players. Also, I don't think it can be coded that only in "1v1" situations that after a missed turn, that the player who missed a turn doesn't go first. But i can't confirm it, so i'd wait on a code techie, like blake to confirm or deny.
This is not entirely accurate, especially regarding team games.
Lets say I have just taken a bonus and it is near impossible for you to take it back this round. So, instead of trying to break it or setting up a counter, you decide to miss a turn. Now, you get to drop your regular drop on your partner, and then drop the deferred drop on the same territory, and fort to it, just as your partner drops again and uses that stack for the break. At that point I have no option but to wait for you to go first to open the turn for me, just because they decided to miss. And it is near impossible to block that coordinated attack as they can talk and decide when to go. That missed turn should count as the last move. They should not be rewarded for missing the turn by blocking me from going after already waited on them to go. I think if they miss their turn, the turn should be opened up for everyone. The block is meant for someone waiting to go last and not letting them go last then first in consecutive rounds. However, this should not apply to those who miss their turn. The only fair way to do it would be either to open the turn if a missed turn is the last play, or have no deferred troops on a missed turn for freestyle, not just 1v1, but all freestyle.
I got a nice dose of these tactics recently while playing some freestyle in 2 tourneys that I was in. The experienced freestyle players took full advantage of them in some of my games. It is disappointing to get a lead and have it destroyed by such tactics. It obviously is not a fair system, but I have held my opinion til now. If you think about it, it is not fair to reward a missed turn in such a manner. I know changes to the system are a pain in the rear, but such a change would improve the freestyle option significantly.

shouldn't have missed your turn in the first place.
