your favorite online game?
what are people's favorite mmorpg games? and what is your favorite browser-based mmorpg game? just curious what people here are currently playing.
Re: your favorite online game?
i used to play Legend of the Green/Red Dragon. there was another ancient BBS mmorpg that i liked, but i can't remember the name. you fought in dungeons and bought potions from a priest and stuff. it was neat.

I've never played an mmorpg, but I'm seriously considering picking up The Old Republic, if it's possible to still have fun in PvP without constant grinding (like in WoW) and my current computer (a year old now) can run it.

Never played an MMORPG, other than playing Runescape for five seconds and then realizing how shitty it was. I find the concept of them to be way too nerdy for my tastes. Platform racing is an addictive game though (google it).

The only real MMORPG game I've played was Everquest 1. That game was legit, but as far as current MMOs are concerned, I'm clueless.

not exactly an mmog, but I like Space Empires V. It's a cool game. i started out with Spaces Empires III shareware and then bought the V at the bookstore. It's so cool, and it has loads of options. But I've never played with human players, and the Ai's getting old and easy to beat (even in hard mode, intelligence turned off)(intelligence means "spies" not smarts)

Ogame. Plays very slow, but after a few months and some experience it's addicting.
It's a time consumer though

Re: your favorite online game?
I played ogame for 3-4 years, then finally quit. The universe I was in was down to about 500-800 people, my alliance had basically moved on to other games, and when I finally lost my moon and fleet for a second time, I just gave up. I've though about going back, but it sucks up so much time if you want to play it right.Streaker wrote:Ogame. Plays very slow, but after a few months and some experience it's addicting.

Re: your favorite online game?
I played 2 years. First universe 6 months learning the ropes, then finally rocketed up the ranks and became part of a strong alliance. After some nice crashes and timings, I went to mining. I enjoyed it very much, but after a while you have seen it all.maasman wrote:I played ogame for 3-4 years, then finally quit. I pissed off other people, they responded by blowing up 5 of my 9 moons...
Finally quit, started again after a year for a few months, then I finally really quit
It's a fun game, but when you have seen it all... Then it's just the people and society you stick around for. A little like CC.

Re: your favorite online game?
I looked at that, but it didn't look fun to me (either that or too complex). I played Space Sonata (or Star Sonata?) but I quit because I couldn't figure out the controls, and nothing in-game helped me figure out the mission I was on, and the brain infusions looked too painful to watch, even though it was just a game. Dark orbit was boring and ad-ridden...Metsfanmax wrote:I've been playing EVE Online for a while.

Re: your favorite online game?
yes, there are. There are even other risk-like games, much like CC but less community-oriented. Sites like War Gear, Major Command, Risk Attack, and others are other risk online games. Wargear.net has some really cool game features, but the site takes forever to load and it doesn't have the same community feel to it. I like CCInsomniaRed wrote:There are other online games?

Kingdom of Loathing is pretty good, and one of the few that's essentially completely free and browser based, while still being fun.

"zOMG!" in Gaia Online. It's a great game as long as your computer can handle massive amounts of lag.

I remember that game! It was red dragon btw. You could get the barmaid pregnant in it!
