Ratings limited to players with a certain rating

Disclaimers Note I am posting this suggestion at the request of a user who wants to keep his/her name out of the forums.


Concise description:

• Have it so only players with a rating of x.x or above (Replace x's with a rating) can rate people.

Specifics/Details:

• When a player reaches a certain rating (I shall leave it as X), then they are able to rate people. So an example, you'd need a rating of 4.5 or above to rate anyone.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

• Will keep players who have very low ratings giving out skewed ratings to players who don't deserve them.

Just a reminder, this is not my suggestion, I am only posting it for the user.

I think it was due to the user's main language not being english.

I would agree with this, although I guess the approach is more 'if you have a low rating then the rating privilege is revoked'.

The only concern I would have is new recruits - I don't think they should be barred from rating just because they don't have any ratings yet, or don't have enough to balance out one low rating.

Perhaps if your rating is below x amount after receiving 5 ratings, then you can no longer have rating privileges until your rating improves

I like this suggestion. Having the limit to be around 4.4 or 4.5 would be good imo.

I am suggesting newbies should have the ability to rate. The purpose behind the suggestion is that people with lower ratings are likely to give lower ratings in return. I don't think newbies fit within that category.
