Concise description:
New rules for breaking the rules instead of the old way by doing this we will be able to move up and down the scale! After you get your first violation it starts off as warnings and it stay on your record for 1,2 or 3 months with in that time frame they get another violation then they go up to the next violation until the set amount of time pasts!

Specifics/Details:

Mild abuse of rules would be defined by: as trolling, spam, and off topic discussion

Gross infraction of rules would be: flaming members and excessive use of trolling, spam, off topic discussion. (excessive trolling/spamming/off topic would be more than 3 or 4 within that same day.)

Blatant disregarding of rules: would be: bigoted comments, and posting pornography

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

by adopting this new set of rules means that people would be able to move up and down the ladder of breaking rules. it would also eliminate bans out of no where. meaning had a lot of violations before then stopped for a long while and then break one little rule and get slapped with a 6 month ban.

also he adds a dynamic to the rules breaking meaning there are lesser offensive over other ones.

this will make more people happier and you will see a revival of the forums.

I like this. And, I mean, we can only have one account, so it makes sense... Otherwise someone can get paranoid if they know their next slip-up will get them perma-banned... And how can you come back from that?

i think this way of setting the rules is more flexible and i also think that most people would think the punishments are exceptionable. and not excessive.

They seem reasonable, I think. If this is implemented, I'm guessing it will prolly be tweaked somewhat, to the mods' liking.

i wanted to go with the existing rules so we would have the best chance of it changing

I don't think Woodruff's link (eddie2's suggestion) and this suggestion should be merged.

I, for one, would appreciate some more detail (and perhaps a clearer chart) associated with this.

I agree, they should not be merged. I wanted to make sure everyone was aware of it though, as I consider it actually a more important implementation affecting a different part of the problem as it currently exists.

i made it on excel a really nice chart but i have no clue how to upload it to the forms. all i did was take the definitions now that are linked in http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... 5#p1759438 so it not a change in the rules just a change in how they would be implemented. add a record that gets wiped clean after a certain amount of time seems the most fair way to do it.
