-It would provide the chatters more time to deal with real things in chat rather than the person who logs in starts talking and then is told to go to social.
-Plus for the regular cc user it is quite annoying having to click social everytime you enter chat.

Besides, I don't understand why "Help" is an auto channel, because generally, it's very social to help people.

We added the help tab because if Social is very busy with conversations, it can be hard to give someone the help they need. Many people coming to chat for the first time have an issue, and separating the Help tab has been good to get people the answers they need faster, and more helpful (as there are different rules for the help tab to keep someone from messing with a user).

The tab you log into is the last tab by default, and we chose Help to be the last tab so it didn't change the existing order (Social first, then Callouts).

i vote for this too!!! i also feel that it should just all be social. its very bureaucratic and unfriendly to make people go to the callouts and help ghettos while the cool kids are partying in social.

I understand the argument for having social pop in first, for those that say hi there by mistake etc, but there's also the counter-arguments for situations such as this: (where the help tab is better placed):

There is often the possibility that when people join chat, and social is the initial tab, and then they ask questions at a time when there are many ongoing discussions, and therefore unfortunately the question gets lost, and the member doesn't receive the help they need (which, as in the above scenario is only a one word response, but makes a big difference on the individual concerned).

This is I guess also related to the complaints people sometimes have on help being empty, so why can't they chat in there. Help is pretty much exclusively for providing help, and other conversations usually detract from that.

Now it does. I think polls are good from the start. If someone comes by and there isn't one, if they don't bother to ever come back to check up on the Suggestion then that's one opinion lost that could help produce more accurate results and give a better idea of what the CCommunity wants.

As for the idea, meh.
It's ok after some revision - I'm just not sure I want it on the far right. To be honest, the Help tab seems rather mundane. Most of the newer players coming in that need help wouldn't bother going to it for a question, would ask it in Social, and, honestly, that's not really a big problem. There are very few times when there is such a heated discussion occuring in Live Chat that someone politely asking help will truly, if at all, interfere with the flow of conversation.

I admire the principle and reasoning behind The Help Tab, but it seems to serve more of a tool for spammers than it does its original intent.
