How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

Right. And if you have a teammate, you can already send messages to just your team. I don't understand the benefits of this at all. It seems like this would only do harm...

As others have already pointed out, this would be the epitome of secret diplomacy. Let's NOT go down the path of sanctioning it.
