TOURNEY RULES
What: Little League World Series
Teams: 20 (10 in the US Division and 10 in the International Division)
Players per team: 3
Format: 1 vs. 1 play (in a team setting)
Eligible: Must be PREMIUM to join this one simply due to the number of games played simultaneously when pitching.
ā¢ Game play ā
Each matchup will resemble a true Little League baseball game with each map representing a spot in the batting order. Basically, if the hitter wins itās a āhitā if the pitcher wins itās an āout. Win quickly for extra-base hits, any game that goes 13 rounds or more results in a sacrifice fly (hitter is out, lead-runner advances one base).
See the below box for the exact breakdown.
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd27 ... efinal.pngAll games are 1 vs. 1...
Batter #1 vs. opposing pitcher
Batter #2 vs. opposing pitcher...and so on through the lineup (9 batters, then back to the top)
The pitcher is trying to retire the side in order (three straight outs), while the offense is trying to bunch together hits to bring runs across...just like real baseball.
Baseball rules will be followedā¦for example a sacrifice fly with two outs ends the inning with no one advancing. Also, a 10-run mercy rule will be in effect after the losing team has played four innings.
Stolen bases are also awarded ā each time a team turns in five rainbow sets in an inning, the lead runner will swipe a base. This count is restarted at the end of each inning.
ā¢ Setting your lineup ā
Each spot in the batting order features a unique map and settings.
Each of the three players on a team should fill three spots in the order.
Each player on the team will also have a role in pitching.
1) Starter ā (Faces first 15 batters)
2) Reliever ā (Faces next 10 batters)
3) Closer ā (pitches to end of the game)
A starter will likely see the most action on the mound, while the closer will be throwing in the pressure-packed at-bats at the end.

http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd27 ... xscore.pngā¢ Round-robin and advancing to the bracket
The tournament starts with pool play ā the US Division is divided into a pair of five-team groups, as is the International Division (see standings box below). That guarantees each team at least three round-robin games.
Sample standings
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd27 ... xscore.pngThe top two teams in each grouping advance to the Divisional semifinals.
The winners in the semis advance to the Divisional championship game.
The US winner and the International winner meet in a final game to crown the Little League World Series champion.
