The tournament will involve an 'evolving storyline' format. Mission details will be sent to agents by secret message systems to avoid counter-espionnage.

This tournament is open to all players with a decent attendance record. Freemiums beware - there will be 2-games-at-a-time.

DJ Teflon succesfully assasinated the Dark Forces of the Extreme-Right Coalition

The Setting
You are a secret agent for a Confederalist Coalition group, planning to take over the EU and sieze economic and political power.

Along with a number of other special agents you are charged to undertake a number of missions to assassinate politicians and key figures from independantist groups. Targets must be eliminated at all haste, before the new British right-wing coalition begin to assert their anti-EU position ...

With political summits about to take place in locations across Europe, the opportunity to eliminate some of your targets presents itself …

show: The Evolving Storyline ...
You receive a new text message:

"Congratulations! Our analyists have determined that key figure in maintaining the stability of the British coalition is Nick Judas Clegg. Other key figures of betrayal have also been identified.

Details of your targets' whereabouts can be found under your pillow in your hotel room. K"

Image

You receive a text message:

"Tory negoitiators have succesfully coerced former centre-left Liberal Democrats of the UK to sell their souls for power. They are now negotiating with a number of European diplomats both in Ireland and in the Netherlands to undermime the EU and the bill of human rights.

Your Tory negotiator targets have been determined and assigned to you - you will find details under your pillow in your hotel room. K"

A note is slipped under your hotel room door ...

"We have identified Burlesconi's negotiators undertaking anti-confederalist negotiations with Welsh Nationalists, as well as brokering secret trade deals with China. Your first two missions will be to assassinate key figures in these negotiations.

Details of your targets' whereabouts will be forwarded to you immediately - ensure you act quickly as the information will self-destruct in 24 hours. K"

Image

Your phone rings and you receive the following message from a computerised voice:

"Burlesconi's negotiators are canvassing for further anti-confederalist support at an EU convention in Luxembourg. We have also identified a huge source of his income is coming from an illicit drug trade. Your next two missions are to assassinate key players in these developments.

Details of your targets' whereabouts will be forwarded to you immediately - ensure you act quickly as the information will self-destruct in 24 hours. K"

Image

As the drugs bust mission draws to a close and Burlesconi's dealers are hauled off for questionning, you hear a phone ring in a nearby call-box:

"Well done on your success agent.

We have further missions planned for you. Firstly, Burlesconi's negotiators are at a secret meeting in Hong Kong, arranging dodgy trade and arms deals with dubious eastern leaders. Secondly, we have identified further members of his negotiation team canvassing for anti-confederalist support with splinter nationalist groups in Scandinavia. Your must assassinate the key players in these developments.

Details of your targets' whereabouts will be forwarded to you back at your hotel room - ensure you act quickly as the information will self-destruct in 24 hours.

Thanks again agent, your efforts will be rewarded.

K

Your phone rings.

"Agent, go to the street corner near the newspaper stand" <Click>

'Here we go again' you think, and take the stairs two-at-a-time.

The street corner looks pretty deserted, apart from a couple of old ladies heaving grocery bags.

Your phone rings again.

"Agent, we have located a number of independantist espionnage and counte-espionnage agents, Your targets whereabouts are indicated on maps you will find in the dustbin directly opposite where you are standing. There is no time to waste, you must set-off within 24 hours.

And beware, some of the counter-espionnage agents have an enchanting beauty." <Click>

You look around to see who made the call but the street is still, not even a twitching curtain.

Sure enough, the bin opposite has all you need to set about your new series of missions ...

Image

Your phone vibrates with a text message:

"Well done agent. You have proven yourself thus far.

Burlesconi's closest advisers and negotiators are somewhat closer to home, undertaking political deals in San Marino and Italy. Further of his closest aides are negotiating methods of dealing with africans migration issues in Malta. It is even believed slavery is on the agenda!

Your mission specifications will be communicated to you in due course.

Remain on standby agent.

Success in these final missions will lead to significant recognition.

K"

Image

Again you receive a text message:

"Agent, go to the phone box at the entrance to the port ... and hurry !"

As you arrive, you hear the phone ring in the call-box and you run quickly:

"Agent, we have identified two more high profile missions. You must not fail as these missions are crucial to Burlesconi's 'business' developments.

Whilst his team of closest advisers are meeting with Scottish Nationalists to bring about anti-confederalist action in the European Parliament, another team of negotiators are travelling through the US, apparently arranging underhand deals with car manufacturers and oil companies - all contrary to EU trade laws of course.

Details of your Scottish targets' whereabouts will again be forwarded to you back at your hotel room - whilst a car will be waiting for you on arrival in the US - your target's details will of course be in the glove box.

Thanks again agent, your efforts will be rewarded."

The phone clicks dead as a tall stranger knocks on the phone box door. A shiver of fear goes down your spine as he reaches for his inside pocket.

Thankfully, he produces an envelope containing airline tickets, tips his cap and promptly dissappears into the throng of activity at the port entrance.

Again you receive a text message:

"Be careful out there, one of our Agents has been shot-down amidst suspected counter-espionnage.

We have adjusted your mission specifications accordingly."

Details:
show
Initial Phase:
Four groups of four agents undertake two missions to eliminate right-wing independantist targets. All successful agents will remain in employment.

Final Stage:
Four to eight successful agents players will undertake a highly crucial mission to eliminate a key political figure blocking confederalist progress. The successful candidate will achieve significant recognition with the movement.

Match Options
show
Maps will not be announced in advance to avoid counter-espionnage.

Games will be Assassin and Sequential, with Flat Rate Spoils, Adjacent Reinforcements and Fog of War (given the top secret nature of spy networks).

Players
show
There will be 16 players.

Players must have a 97% attendance record, have played a minimum 25 matches, and not have dropped out from one of my tournaments previously!

Players will have 24 hours to join their matches from when the joining PM is sent. Failure to do so will result in a reserve being sought (harsh, I know).

Group Allocation
show
Players will be allocated groups according to random.org.

Reserves
show
All reserves will be sent a PM when an opening occurs. The first reserve to respond will gain a place.

For the first round, reserves will be drawn from the reserve list.

In the final stage, reserves will not be sought. If players are missing then games will take place with one fewer player than planned.

Joining Matches
show
Players will be informed when they have a match and will have 24 hours to join. If they fail to do so then they will be ejected from the tournament and a reserve will replace them.

Partnerships / Regular opponents
show
Players must inform the tournament organiser if they have a regular partner or opponent that is also featuring in the tournament. The organizer can then ensure these players do not play together to avoid any potential claims of foul play by other players.

If reports of suspected foul play are made and the players in question have not declared that they are regular partners / opponents then they will be both be ejected from the tournament without question or the need for irrefutable evidence.
