isnt it suppose to be called heads-up (as long as your playing pokerclub why not use the correct terms ;))

I take it that in order to have the maximum of 3 challenges going on, you must hold 3 cards, therefore in the initial stages, only 1 challenge can happen, until you collect more cards?
