Dear CC community

Post by The Neon Peon »

- I find it funny that most people were complaining about switching classic to classic shapes. Then kept playing on it as much as they previously did.
- I find it funny that most people were complaining when classic shapes had classic art added to it. Then the majority switched to playing classic art.
- I find it funny that most people are complaining about the two classics being made into this revamp.

When there was an announcement 2 months ago that Classic was being revamped (and at that time, all but the legend and title were the same), why didn't you say something then? It takes less than a minute to go to the thread and post "please don't change it"

It vexes me that every time something is done on the site, everyone screams "I liked it better the way it was before" and gives some excuse. Then when a revamp comes around, and there is an announcement about it and you have two months to say something, and if you do say something, it affects the map... you don't bother to post, "leave it as is"? Then, when it comes out, you then spend the next week complaining about it in a dozen threads?

It makes no sense to me. You had a great say in this update, a ton of people's comments influenced the way the map looks right now. My advice is: go to the foundry and make one post there per 3 months (that's about how often we have a revamp.)

Awful to look at? At least it isn't just circles and lines and boring.

Yes confusing
I don't understand why it's so hard to understand that this looks like a rail map.
THat the majority of maps on this site have shapes that touch one another and they may be of differing sizes, but the territories touch, they don't have friggin squigly lines that move in strange direction.
I DID post on the thread begging for this horrible map to go away

There are many specific, and legalese reasons why the assault connection lines were chosen instead of territories connecting.

I think under the circumstances and pressures and limitations imposed, the Classic Map REVAMP is fitting and will make a great classic map.

I love the new map. Though I have always loved the territory line connection thing. But I will go back to playing more classic now

It is 10 times better to look at than classic shapes. Classic Art wasn't so bad, but at least this is much more in line with the original gameplay - where as Classic Art involved studying the map to figure out the new names for everything and where things were.

This map is much, much better.

I think people are complaining because they are twats.

There, I said it.

Twats.

How can you possibly want something like arts or shapes over this masterpiece? Get overyourselves. Twats.

ps. sorry for calling you twats. I didn't mean it, serially.

The Foundry process is an absolute pain in the ass and I commend Sully for seeing this through to the end. =D>

This > Art > Old Version > Shapes

Art had a good theme, I think an actual art theme map would be good

i dont see the connection you r trying to make with the rail maps, this does not look at all like those,i agree with you, the rail maps r confusing, but the new version of the classic is just as straight forward as the original, except now i cant sem to find Kamchatka, (j.k)

If someone finds the new map truly confusing, there is always this option.

It is infinitely better than those other two stand ins, and if you have to think about it for one extra nano-second...so much the better, I say.

why not just have it as an addition instead of a replacement, the territories arnt even marked, you have to figure it out from remembering what it used to be like, its fine for standard games but in freestyle you need to be able to be quick and not study the map before your go

Because Lack doesn't want identical gameplay on two maps.

Wha wha what? Of course they are.

Good luck. I've always tried to avoid the classic map, but never with that much success. It's always seemed like 95% of 2k+ games are made on it (even right after the switch to classic art and shapes), so I found it impossible to stay off of.

My objection to it was simple: the map has nothing special about it's gameplay (bottle necks everywhere, too), it's graphics are below the level of most maps (even the old classic was), and it is the only map that we can play outside of CC. But now that the graphics are good, I see one reason for playing on it, and I look forward to being able to join the speed escalatings I keep get invited to.

I agree with neon on this.. we ALL had plenty of time to say we don't like the map. People always wait till it is too late before speaking up, which is really unfortunate. But I like the new map.. takes a little bit of getting use to .. but will be great :) 2 thumbs up !
