So, are we still waiting on Batch 1 games? All of mine finished in 6 turns or less... won 2 lost 1.

On 6/15 at 1:48 i had no map, because my time was gonna run out, i started my turn hoping something would happen, it did not so i just hit the deploy button again hoping something would happen again nothing. I lost that game. Are you having rematches or is it just too bad so sad?

i think all "Serbia" games in "preliminary round 1" are over, you could send invites for next games

I really wish this tournament could move along...though i must say this is my most successful map ever. I've taken on several majors on this map. Even stolen some swords

So when is the 2nd batch of games going to run?

That's ridiculous. South Africa was the first batch of games that went out. Why hasn't your (nonexistent) opponent been kicked from the tournament and replaced with one of the reserves? Was this a game that had to be replayed because of the map malfunctions?

somebody please give me an answer what is happening to this tournoament? Why is it on hold, blocked at preliminary round 1?

Is this everyone's first tournament? There are still at least 25 games left to finish in the first batch. Chill out.

I only played 2 games so far and 3 others got deleted. So you are going to need to keep thoise slots free for a little longer..hehehe

Once there are only a handful of games active in the first batch of games we'll start the next. Don't worry, it WILL happen, it just makes it easier for us to do it all at once.

The good news is: if the tournament keeps going at this pace, it should wrap up just in time for Brazil 2014.

Invites for Prelim round 2 coming out by the end of tonight if you've not had them already. Premiums may be asked to join more than 3 games at a time to speed things up from here on in.

Look on the bright side, the longer the tourney goes on, the longer the map is available

I'd also say that this is a really good map, very interesting and complex but not too confusing. Is there a reason why it's going to be removed when the tournaments are done (apart from the fact that the world cup will be over!)?

Well, over in the Official 2010 CC World Cup Event topic, there has been a bit of discussion about whether the map is fair in 1 v 1, with some saying first to play is an easy win, while others say strategy can save the second player even from a bad drop. The fact is that the map didn't go through all the normal grinding and polishing of the Map Foundry, and some will say it needs improvement. Plus, it is nice to have a map that only comes out for special occasions. With a graphical update, this map could easily return for the next World Cup in 2014, the Euro Cup in 2012, or just about any international tournament that uses a bracket like this, so I'm sure some version of this map will be back eventually.

Agreed Ender, the map can easily be altered for other circumstances. But if you all like the map so much, then maybe make the suggestion for it be "CC-ified" (if that's the term I'm looking for... ) and Mr. Benn could make it into a generic bracket-style map, maybe. Who knows??
