Re: RAIL AFRICA [BETA]
why is the bonus for G just 3?
N for example has as many borders but less territs and is worth 4.

Because G Line has only 3 territories attacking it,knubbel wrote:why is the bonus for G just 3?

I'm not aware of any discussion about imbalance etc?
Does anybody have any legitimate concerns about imbalance, or has anybody noticed any glaring errors/omissions? If not we'll have to push the boat out....

Re: RAIL AFRICA [BETA]
Nothing yet of significance that i know of.....although several months now after Rail Europe has gone live....there is a call from some to adjust the bonuses on two small bonus lines.MrBenn wrote:I'm not aware of any discussion about imbalance etc?

Is there any chance the boat can be left at the dock for a while longer while some games finish....this is a large map to conquer.

This is a switch: the Boys In Blue pushing to quench the map, and the mapmaker saying "Let's take it slow".cairnswk wrote:Nothing yet of significance that i know of.....although several months now after Rail Europe has gone live....there is a call from some to adjust the bonuses on two small bonus lines.MrBenn wrote:I'm not aware of any discussion about imbalance etc?

Does anyone know how many games have been played on Rail Europe and Rail Africa, just to get an idea of how many it might take to get people to call for adjustments?

Anyway, this map has just over 100 games finished.
R Europe has 3717 games finished.
I think if there is no calls for change in a week, then the boat can probably go out then.

Hmm, well then, we can't really wait for Rail Africa to get up into that level of play. I must say, I am enjoying this map.cairnswk wrote:Yes,ender516 wrote:...

I thought that was novel also.

Re: RAIL AFRICA [BETA]
hmmmm but in both cases you need to stack on three territs to defend the bonus. But I'm not very experienced with mapmaking (and I hardly play flat rate/ no spoils games) so maybe my opinion should not count that much. And since I hold the N bonus in the game that I'm playing on this map...cairnswk wrote:Because G Line has only 3 territories attacking it,knubbel wrote:why is the bonus for G just 3?

Re: RAIL AFRICA [BETA]
These bonuses are what bonus creator template makes, and these bonuses were supposedly gone over by the gameplay guys, so if they're happy with them....knubbel wrote:hmmmm but in both cases you need to stack on three territs to defend the bonus. Re: RAIL AFRICA [BETA]
I'd just like to say this is the best looking rail map by a large margin. I'm not sure what I like so much about it, but you definitely did something great here.
Warning: You may be reading a really old topic.

I think it's because the places for the army numbers aren't boxes. The shape you used instead is quite aesthetically pleasing.cairnswk wrote:Wow, Coleman. thanks.Coleman wrote:I'd just like to say this is the best looking rail map by a large margin. Re: RAIL AFRICA [BETA]
You got my home town's abbreviation wrong.
We abbreviate Pretoria as PTA and not PRA, it just reads easier.

Re: Rail Africa [Quenched]
can somebody please explain why L is a +3 bonus with 3 lands and 1 border when O is a +2 with 2 borders? how does this make sense??
Re: Rail Africa [Quenched]
L has 4 lands (there's one in Capetown) and effectively 5 bordering lands, that's why a +3 bonus.nikola_milicki wrote:can somebody please explain why L is a +3 bonus with 3 lands and 1 border when O is a +2 with 2 borders? how does this make sense??

Re: Rail Africa [Quenched]
Hey guys!
Just noticed that there is a slight spelling error on this map.
In the legend, Line E is called "L'Algerian" (with the accent - can't type accents on this computer).
However, in the game log, it is called "L'Algerien", which is the correct French spelling.
If it's too late to correct it, I understand, but I just wanted to bring that to your attention.
Best,
sempai
