Valhalla would better because then at least you'll have a sense of accomplshment, because you take risks in battle. THEN you get the reward, meaning that you know you have to earn it.

Dare i say, that i have Taoist beliefs as far as God goes. I have no wish to dismiss that which i don't know, but i would find it easier to believe in a god that doesn't intervene, than one who does but takes no responsability for xis mistakes.

If god does exist, then he does not need faith to survive. But if he doesn't exist and is merely a hypothetical or imaginary being then he does indeed need faith to exist, however as there is currently no means of proving gods existence there is no way of definitively proving whether he needs faith to survive. Although one could view it as if no one believed in god, we would not try to seek out a way to prove his existence and therefore he would vanish from our minds and even if he is real would cease to exist to us, the human race. Try to find a hole in that argument.

Actually, both Roman Catholic and Orthodox are trying to heal the rift that began about 2000 years ago. Hence the reason why the Pope and the Head of the Orthodox religion (title escapes me) visited Turkey last summer.

I'm very pleased by this thread. For a long time Christians & other theists here have been arguing for the existence of God. The argument has now shifted from His existence to whether or not He can survive...we're making progress. Slow progress, but progress nevertheless.

You are wrong, actually, if you're referring to the statement in which he said that other denominations cannot rightly be called "churches". He said that any Orthodox church (Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, etc) all follow the apostolic succession and thus fall under the category of "true church".

Incidentally, this has always been Catholic doctrine, the pope just reaffirmed it.
