Bruce was kind enough to offer to teach me how to play doubles. If there was a society of cooks for doubles games, I'd be there.chephren wrote:For anyone who thought there may be some simmering "bad blood" between our two clans ...check out this game....just as we prepare for battle the two leaders get together for a love-in:

Well, Heck. . I suppose the joke is on me. . . .truth be told, though, it would be much harder to find images of a killmanic than a white moose. . . .
Apologies, Mr. Moose. . ...may your antlered life at Waterloo be ever long.
When you get as old as me, you have a few mental hiccups from time to time. . ..I mean, I am almost as old as Chephren!

I assume that is how you pout about Ninja taking you down 4-1 in the Feudal 1v1 series? Classy.

Re: C.C. EMPIRE v KoRT - [1-0] Round 1
Lubawski posted this in the TOFU/Legion thread, but I thought it was more appropriate to respond to it here.
As a clan, we have never played a challenge with a 12-hour agreement for foggy games. Some of us are accustomed to it (and like it!) from tournament games, but it was a new concept to some people.
You guys did propose the 12-hour rule for our challenge games, and it was rejected - I'll leave any reasoning/timing considerations out of this. Shortly after our games for the cup began, LoW proposed the 12-hour agreement for our semi-final league games. This time we put it to a clan vote, and it came up split.
Now - not everyone who voted no chose that option just to be a dick! Some people had legitimate concerns about only having one time per day to play games, among other things. Some people perhaps just didn't want to go through the extra oversight required to comply with the agreement.
So, we told LoW the following: it was a split vote - some clan members are willing to agree to it, others are not. What we are left with is this: individual teams can choose to agree to the 12-hour rule for their games, or not, as they wish. Unfortunately, this means it will just have to be negotiated on a game-by-game basis.
It will require more work if teams want to make the effort, but for our second set of challenge games we can negotiate with you guys (if you wish!) and figure out which teams are willing to abide by the foggy rule agreement, and which are not. It's certainly a more onerous way of doing things, but perhaps better than an across the board rejection.

So, a few things here.Lubawski wrote: Our start with KORT went down to the wire as well, and for a similar reason. We offered to have a 12 hour delay in starting any FOW game (so both sides could see the board) and Masli and Bruce rejected it. I believe it was Chemefreak who posted in our forum that this is war, so there should be no such gentlemanly agreements. Well, we did exactly what TOFU did. We joined all but one member and waited until the zero hour last night to join so we could get our snapshots. We offered a reasonable offer so that such tactics didn't have to be used and delay a start, they denied. It is foolish to not use anything you can to your advantage within the rules. If you didn't like their patience in joining games, you should have compromised.

Re: C.C. EMPIRE v KoRT - [1-0] Round 1
The 12-hour thing is tricky. We had it for the Monki challenge, and anyone who followed that will know that there were a couple of... let's call 'em hiccups on both sides, which only fed the acrimony that sprung up during the long break between rounds.
Personally, I think it's lame that people can't see in the log which of their terits were taken in fog games, which is why Seul and I hammered out the 12-hour thing in the first place. But there are legitimate problems with it, most of which Foxy outlined above, so I can see why clans wouldn't necessarily adopt it as a hard-and-fast rule. But to dismiss it purely because "this is war" is lame, because this isn't war, and even in real war there exist gentleman's agreements.
