A Conquer Club Year in Review
And as 2007 finally comes to an end
Let us all look back and descend
Into our most recent history,
Let us delve further into every monthly memory.
January brought our very first birthday
And the dreaded news of update delay.
And the ModSquad gained a bright new member
In AK_Iceman, surely a mod to remember.
We broke the year’s very first user online record,
536—yowza, what growing forum board!
February brought the long awaited Christmas update,
A beefy server upgrade added a little performance weight,
Just in time for the shadow Assassin
To eliminate their target for a victory win.
And in the Off Topics forum mafia games rose to power
Just as Jolly Roger finished Battle Royale II’s final hour.
March brought Lackattack’s news that Conquer Club would be a fulltime job,
Though in case it all didn’t work, he probably plotted a few places to rob.
The infamous and wild character of dugcarr1 said goodbye,
Just as WidowMakers finished his first map idea from his near endless supply.
And again the Off Topics forum exploded once more,
Max is gr8 started it all with the “Get to know a CC’er” thread-war.
April brought the Swedish Chef’s noo munegimeet,
And quite a chaos as we all tried to dance to the new foreign language’s beat,
At least we all now didn’t have to scroll the game log to Count our Cards.
Later Keyogi joined the Foundry team to keep high map standards,
And we finally scrapped Gabbly Chat, good riddance to bad rubbish,
Just as simtom quested to achieve his zero point wish.
May brought the deliciously delightful Two Player game
And with our new ranks, Gibbom was crowned first Conqueror with much acclaim.
Spamalot in the Off Topics forum departed for a brief time
And after a public campaign it was restored to its prime.
Reverend_kyle hit 10,000 posts and more,
And finally Conquer Club debuted its official store.
June brought a whole new style of World Domination play,
Resources and transportation, DiM’s Age of Merchants, what else can I say?
The user online record was broke once again,
1202 strong, could we continue to grow and maintain?
And what do you know, one the year’s popular phrases was just catching on,
“Lock’er Down!” Oye vey, look at what it spawned!
July brought the fulltime addition King Achilles
To help out and join the hunt for crooked multis.
The long saga of Qwert’s Eastern Front map in the Foundry came to conclusion,
Thus making it available for mass play distribution.
And Steelhorse turned his tournament passion into official Director obsession,
As Geoster pulled on our hearts…and legs in the General Discussion.
August brought Ajax, Colorblind Settings, and Speed Games, oh my!
Whatever we wanted Lack could seemingly supply.
The insanely popular Doodle Earth map made by Evil DIMwit
Became renowned as a map for Assassin play, what a hit!
And once again, another popular phrase gained fame
Autoload’s “this thread is huge,” could not be tamed.
September brought a month of World Domination,
Or at least, said our MPOGD voting fixation,
Couple free Speed Games for those all who participated.
And Clapper011 and Bedub1 took Chat’s reins and were initiated.
Two multi hunters, Fireside Poet and Master Bush, said arrivaderci,
Cairnswk and Coleman joined the Foundry team as aloha’d Keyogi.
October brought the Fog of War, AK_Iceman’s departure, and the return of Twill,
Over 1 million games played, what an intense thrill!
Optimus Prime took Hugh.G.Rection’s Tournament Director position,
As the 19th Annual Risk Championship perhaps began a new Conquer Club tradition,
Official usergroups and clans were back,
Just as Fircoal added over 15,000 posts to his stack.
November brought the ModSquad additions of Jennifermarie and Steelhorse,
As MarVal and Wacicha joined our growing force.
Cairnswk departed from the Foundry as Ajax performance became a key issue,
Many members protested the Canada map REVAMP with a yell and a tissue.
Krusher came to site wide attention with his debacle, snafu, fiasco,
But despite it all, the user online record topped 1401, have we hit a plateau?
December brought Eight Player games and a second server,
And to enhance Lack’s economic stability and life preserver,
Premium Membership became 25 U.S. dollars.
James Vazquez and Rebelman became Chat mod regulars,
Just as a record tying ten maps reached completion.
As for the recent Login Bug, let’s just forget, erase from the mind, deletion.
And as 2007 finally comes to a final end,
What a year of highs and lows and trends.
And as for 2008, what will it have in store?
I don’t know, but I think we can all agree on more, more, more!
