I hate the way pro Israel people try to make this into a choice between choosing Israel or the terrorists. I support Israel's right to exist and their right to defend themselves and I am completely opposed to terrorism. However I feel very strongly that the approach taken by the Israeli government has been constantly over the top and has put their own citizens at greater risk as well as doing unjustifiable damage to the lives of many thousands of innocent people in "Palestine" and in Lebannon. I think that if Israel continues their over aggressive policies they will never have peace and will always live under the threat of attack.

While it is obvious that "...religion plays a part in every war" - I think that in the Israel war, and in fact in all current and past wars that I can think of - religion just seperates different groups of people. The reason they are fighting each other isn't an arguement over whose religion is correct and I think religion isn't really the cause of the war but an excuse. The war in Israel is really about power - who can have it and how much they will allow the opposition to have. The Arab states don't want to wipe out Israel because of their non Muslim beliefs - they want to wipe out the country because they feel that it is threat to their security and because they want stronger control of the region.

I think the majority of Muslims, Christians and Jews don't really want control or access to Jerusalem. There are more Jews outside of Israel than in Israel and the largest Muslim country (in terms of population) is Indonesia - which is nowhere near Jerusalem.

I think it would be more accurate to say that the Arab states surrounding Israel want control of Israel but I also think Israel clearly wants control of the surrounding Arab states - hence the incursions into Lebannon.

I think the best crusade was the "children's crusade" where a few hundred (or maybe thousand) children decided to go out and convert the heathens with strong argument and were quickly captured and turned into slaves.

I don't really think my idea of what the crusades were bares much resemblance to the Israel conflict - but what I wrote here is all I really know about the crusades so it's possible that small amount of information is wrong.

there was another crusade where the Catholics tried to take Jerusalem from the Muslims and failed. it's kind of flipped now. the muslims want Jerusalem from the Christians/Jews

Surely the only "Arabs" that want their land back are the "Palestinians" and the refugees. I would be fairly confident that the Arabs in Sudan haven't had any land taken.

Palestine isn't an official state and I think what the "Palestinian" people want is different to what the Arab states want. I was particularly referring to countries like Iran and Syria. Obviously the current and most relevent Israel conflict is the one involving Lebannon - which was a conflict involving Hezbollah which is not made of people who "want their land back" although, as I understand it, they do want to completely eradicate Israel.
