agree. in special circs....like when good maps are made..like DiM's 3.0, qwerts combo of east and west front. so yes it is needed but must be used for decent maps!

With the new 8 player games, it will be more important than ever to have the standards changed so that bigger maps are allowed.

there are so many threads asking for bigger maps - dozens total, and at least three started in just the past few days. Maybe there should be one discussion thread started about this topic and all new threads dumped into it, a la the Star Wars map thread in Map Ideas?

I think as long as there arent major technical problems then bigger maps are a winner! (but I bet there techy issues)

Displays arent getting any smaller, just bigger. Lets make use of the extra resolution.

Its not like people with smaller resolutions would feel discriminated against. Since I was last here the maps have been breeding like rabbits.

The cluttered look of some newer maps along with the addition of upto 8 player games would benefit from it and it would obviously provide a greater gaming experience.
