Also, can make an old picture a new layer? Like loading a picture, and putting it in as an individual layer.

And is there a texturing tool? something to make a speckled that area to look like sand?

Layers are possible, but theyre almost completely useless in inkscape...also there is no texturing tool.

Is there a way to crop out an unwanted background and trasfer only the wanted area to another layer/ file/ program in paint/ Inkscape/ Image forge.

well actually, if u mean for just like filling in a whole area, then u can use the pencil and start at one point, and go around that area and get back to the starting point, and choose a color to fill that area in with

It depends on how good you are with it. Probably not, though; vector graphics programs (inkscape, adobe illustrator) usually aren't too good for that kind of stuff.

ok thanks, and right after i posted that i was actually able to do a tiny bit of terraforming, but when i converted it to PDF form so that i could convert it to jpg form, then everything went haywire




so could anybody tell me how i could change it to jpg form without having to change it to pdf form first??

The Gimp is the best i've found. Its good but it won't get you finished. Short of downloading photoshop illigally theres little more you can do.

you cant illegally download it, but you can ilegally install it. .

ok, i really like the mountain on AoR Might and Magic, but i cant figure out how to do it on inkscape

Here is a PSD file that shows one way to make mountains. It is basically a layered approach. Each layer is made by applying and layering small amounts of color to a layer (pick a textured brush with 25%-40% opacity and flow) then the layer has a bevel and texture applied to it via Blending options.

You can open the PSD file and turn off the layer styles. That will show you what each layer looks like and how to better make the mountains.

Whenever i try to type more than one line in Photoshop, the text overlaps. How do you type more than one line?
