Suggestion Idea: Let folks have the option of a "Flame Game", similar to the "Flame Wars" forum site, this would be a place where all those folks who LIKE to abuse each other, play dirty tricks, etc. could go.


Specifics: This would be another game type choice. Folks who WANT this type of game can pick this game type and find like minded souls easily. Within the flame games, it would be anything or almost anything goes. (would explicite sexual comments be allowed or not? -- something to be decided by those interested). The rest can avoid them (or can switch depending on our mood).

Due to the nature of the site, I would suggest NOT allowing feedback for these games OR having the feedback from these games somehow separated. (but would like the button regardless of how feedback is handled) Perhaps flame feedback would be a different color -- either just in the feedback section itself (that is, where you read the comments) and/or a change in the rating besides eacdh person's name (red numbers if rating is from flame wars). OR perhaps there could be another number added for just flame war rating. (this last I think would make things too "busy")

I did a search, looked through lack's list and did not see this suggestion .. if it has already been posted, I apologize and please send me the thread

Why it is needed:
Some folks LIKE playing this way, many do not. Having a seperate "nice" game option would not work since that would just attract some folks specifically to abuse the site. This way, those who like to play this way can, the rest of us can avoid it.

I think feedback for this site should be separated or plain eliminated from these games since three really is little point. Missing turns, abuse, all the usual feedback issues would be appropriate here. If there ARE complaints then they should probably be marked somehow because it will, by nature, be different from other feedback (I can see someone complaining that a person is "too nice" for example. However, even if feedback is not changed, I still see purpose for this site.

Potential problems: The biggest would be that this might attract some kids who might get in "over their head". As a parent, I would say this is something parents need to supervise, not CC. A warning would go along with this game -- perhaps even a special "pop up" box with a warnbing similar to that in Flame Forum, perhaps even with a check/confirm box to make it harder to accidentally start this type of game For that reason, however, it might be good to ask folks to leave out explicite sexual content.. at least until they "know" the fellow players. However, that restriction might defeat the purpose of such a site. Either way, I see a place and purpose for this type of game selection.

ONE final solution, but one that would work best for premium members is that you allow an option for parents to designate a particular player as "under 18" until a specified date. HOWEVER .. the more I detail this, the more I realize it really should have its own thread and therefore I will start one ... see it for explanation of this last option.
