I Worship The Dice Gods
Sometimes you roll the dice sometimes the dice roll you....
It was my first turn in a classic doubles tournament the other team had aussie 7 men before my first turn, on indonisia and of course 1 each on the other 3 territories. i had 3 on siam my partner deployed on siam and I did also. 9 guys to break the bonus gonna be tuff ----- 9 to 10
Not .... I took the complete continent and had 4 left to fort to indonisa

It always seems that way to me too... problem is that you expect to win 3v1 more than 3v2 so you (me included) go crazy when you lose more than two in one battle (which is ridiculous luck might I add, but happens far too often). Still... sometimes I'd rather fight against the 2...Visaoni wrote:Damn you Wacicha. You've been stealing all my good dice. The last two days I've been having crap dice. The funny (or not so funny) thing is that it's mostly 1's that have been putting up an unusually good fight.

Well, I'm talking about 5 or 6. It just happened to me twice in one turn, and it isn't the first time in that game. Alright, enough bitching for me.RobinJ wrote:It always seems that way to me too... problem is that you expect to win 3v1 more than 3v2 so you (me included) go crazy when you lose more than two in one battle (which is ridiculous luck might I add, but happens far too often). Well.... now I know where those good dice went.
Yesterday:
Situation 1- I'm all set to take Oceania but lose 9 trying to take a 2.
Situation 2- I'm all set to take out a player with 5 cards to get matches of 45 + 50 to win the game. By the stats, I should have made it easily. By the rolls, I didn't even come close. Then the next guy had plenty of armies to take me out but didn't make it. So, the 3rd guy in line cleaned up but his offensive rolls were awful too.

I agree completely with wacicha, the dice are awesome sometimes. Check this out from a game I just played:
Scenario:
6-man standard, escalating cards on Classic world, down to three players: me, the eventual winner, and another guy (won't say their names...keep it anonymous). He took most of world with bonus of thirty men, eliminated the other player, cashed another set, took almost all my territories but left me with S-'merica. I had 27 on Brazil (I had cashed a bonus the previous turn, taken a bunch, and fortified all my guys in Brazil) after he finished, adjacent to his 38 in N-Africa, with 1 on the rest. S-'merica was all I controlled. He controls everywhere else, w/ 1 on every territory 'cept N-africa.
My next turn (after he fortified in N-Africa, 38 there compared to my 27 in Brazil):
-Begin turn
-Deploy 5 armies on Brazil (so there are now 32, vs. his 38, remember)
-Attack from Brazil to N-Africa
-Conquer N-Africa with 12 armies to spare
-disrupt his control of Africa, Europe and Asia (so he still had N-america and Aussie)
-Fortify 6 back on Brazil, get a card.
.....
I lost the next turn when he cashed another set for forty, but hey, it was my lucky day, wouldn't you say?
